chapter 5

  THUD!

  Hearing a loud thud woke me up from my sleep. Looking around I see everyone except Laken waking up startled by the noise. Grabbing my pocket watch, I look at the time. 5:00.

"Calm down everyone we just landed on Earth is all."

"Oh and how do you know that?" Mark asked, putting her hands on her hips.

"I looked at the ship schedule. The ship is supposed to land on Earth at 5 am. It is currently 5:02 am. So by that logic we have just landed on Earth." I sass back. Mark just sighs, flipping back her floor length hair. I mean seriously her hair is just an inch from touching the floor. And most of her hair is in a bun! That must be a pain to take care of.

"Alright you heard the man. We're on Earth right now. When that door opens all of us will get a huge culture shock. Our weight in space now is 5 times heavier here. All of our bodys will take some time to get used to Earth's well, everything including food and air. So let's take a moment and say goodbye to the life we knew, cause we're never going back. Alright?" Laken said/asked us all as we nod.
"Good. Pluto you brought some bags with you right?"
"Yes, that 's right."
"Go grab them. While we wait for the pod door to open." Nodding, I head to the closet. Grabbing my stuff I look around the supply closet. Smirking, I form a plan in my head, as I think about how to execute it.

  After two hours of waiting we see the sun come up. "Ah why the hell is the sun so bright?!" Felix asked, covering their eyes as their cat ears were down. Their tail swings back and forth wildly in pain as Laken takes it upon himself to explain.

"In Venus's orbit the sun is covered by gas clouds. So they block the sun. While earth here does not. So the sun is brighter on Earth. As well as why earth is the only planet that can sustain life without help in this solar system."

  Well that was informative. And also unnecessary. Even though I knew that, I didn't go to school. Women ( I hate calling myself that) are not allowed to go to school. Women jobs are to look pretty and not talk back and if we go to school with the boys we'll learn to talk back. Wait, wasn't Felix the Fifth smartest kid in their class.

   THUD!

  What is with the loud noises today? Sigh. As the door to the pod opens I grab my three duffle bags and put my messenger bag across my shoulders. Getting up along with the others we all leave the pod. Stepping out into the sun I have to close my eyes for how bright it is. Taking my goggles off my hat I could feel what earthling's call wind blowing through my now freshly cut hair. Which I'll have to thank Laken for later.

As I was about to put my goggles on I noticed Felix with their eyes squinted. Right cats only need ⅙ the light humans do and they are much more sensitive to it. I take my goggles in my hand and I look at them. The worn old brown leather of the band feels so familiar in my hand. As well as the small crack in one of the lenses from when I was younger. Sighing I walk over to Felix and tap their shoulder. Turning around Felix squints, staring at me. "Pluto?" Felix asked not exactly sure if it’s me or not. Not saying a word I move their peach, black, white, and gray fur from their greenish yellow eyes. Putting my goggles on their face I make sure that they are covering their eyes before grabbing my bags and trying to walk down the rap with my new weight.

  Alright let's do some math here. I was 17 pounds on the space station. So times that by 5 and im? 85 pounds give or take. Ya. This is going to take some getting used to.

  You want to know one thing bad about this?

I have absolutely no clue where to go next. I only planned to escape.

  Having no clue what to do, I stand there at the bottom of the ramp looking around me. "Wow." I'm pretty sure my expression looks like a kid in a candy store. The vast infinite black sky with thousands of stars is now replaced with a violet color. Hold it people. Let me explain the blue and violet wavelengths get scattered by the air, making the sky around us appear blue. The red, yellow, and green wavelengths mostly pass through and hit our eye at once, making the sun appear yellowish. Well to earthling's that is. But I've lived in space my whole life and the radiation from living in space made my eyes turn out to be different then earthling's eye's. So to me the sun is orange and the sky is violet to me.

All of a sudden a burst of huge wind blows. Ah! what's in my eyes? Blinking for a few seconds I got that stuff out of my eyes. Apparently some random guy made that wind. Seeing the boy dive by on a turbo bike (I presume that’s a turbo bike never actually seen one in person) I notice his jacket has the words junk dogs in white on it. That’s odd? I think?

  This place looks like those farmers markets I've read about. Back in the early 2000's. Just no grass. Right, the explosion of 2250 made most of the grass go away. In the year 2250 people started to harness radioactive energy to help move people forward. But when the power plant went online something went wrong. Or as they call it, 'turbo'. The radiation from the power plant spread all across the world. Every human, animal, and plant got hit with a huge amount of radiation. It wiped out over 50% of the human population. As well as 20% of the animal population some animals even went extinct.

  But that's not all that happened with the explosion of 2250. But that for later. I need to figure out what the space junk am I going to do!  Looking around I couldn't find Laken or any of the others. They probably left me. I wouldn't be surprised. I'm Sagara. I would leave me too. Sigh.

  "AAAAHAHAHAHHHAHHAHA!!!"

   What was that! Looking around I see a young woman holding onto her bag and some guy trys to take it. "Hey what's going on here?!" I yell running over to them. Why is everyone just standing around ? Couldn't they see the woman was in trouble?

"Who are you? I haven't seen you around before. And I know everyone in this town." The big off says. Why is everyone taller than me!?!

"I'm new in town. I just got here."

"Lision kid. I'll pretend you didn't just challenge me because you're new. But next time I won't be so nice. Now scram kid." The 6'6 ft guy said as a tooth was sticking out of his mouth.

  "Not until you return the woman's bag!" I say putting my bags down next to the woman.

"You've got a lot of guts kid. I like that. But you caught me on a bad day. So I'm going to have to make you pay!" The ogre says pulling his left arm back for a punch. Turning to the side I dodge his punch. That seemed to make him even more mad. As his arms start to glow a faint brown around them he tries to hit me with his punches. Key word try. Throwing 60 punches a second I barely managed to dodge all of them.

Stopping out of breath. He looks at me with his black eyes. Walking over to him I close my eyes, take a deep breath and kick him under his chin. The force of my kick sent him flying into some poor person's shop. "Hey that brat just beat June! He's going to have to pay!" Some thug said to his buddies.

  As the ten thugs charged at me I grabbed the first thing my hand touched. Not looking to see what it was, I threw it. It hit one guy in the face knocking him into two others. Three down. Seven to go.

  Grabbing a vase from a shop, I threw it at another guy. Hitting him dead in the face he was knocked unconscious. 4 down. Feeling someone behind me I kicked them where the sun didn't shine and threw him over my shoulder. He landed on three others knocking them all out. 8 down.

Looking around I couldn't see the other two. Did they run away? Lowering my guard I walked over to the girl to see if she was alright. "Watch out!" She yelled her blue eyes wide with fear. Turning around I see the two guys double teamed. But they were knocked out. "Well that was fun. Don't you agree?" He asked me.

  "Pluto. Thank you for the save . . ?" I rail off. "Haha. My name's Radon. Nice to meet you Pluto." He answered by holding out his hand." Taking his hand I shake it with a firm grip. "Thanks for the save Radon. It appears I owe you." "No problem at all little -

   "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! IN THE NAME OF THE GALIXY PD!"
