The forgotten adeptus

Part 1: Morax

I lift my teacup to my lips and slowly sip the substance, (F/D) has always been my choice, not like I could really change it. Sadly there isn't much variety in my adeptal realm. And there's not much to do here either I read, train, drink, sleep, and do absolutely nothing until Morax summons me.

It's easy to lose track of time here, but I can't complain. Morax saved me, he took me in and raised me like his own and gave me the title of adeptus. this is the least I could do in return for him. Not like I could change that. I am the only protector of liyue, and am bound by a contract.

I sigh and finish the rest of what was in my teacup and start to head further up my adeptal realm.

'I know it's been quite some time since Morax last summoned me, but is liyue really so safe that they no longer need me?' I think to myself

I shake my head, erasing those thoughts from my head. It's good that liyue is safe. I just...

I wish I could see it with my own eyes.

Morax has been fighting in the archon war alone for a while now, how I wish he would summon me to aid him in battle. I head up to my room, and prepare myself to be in the land of nod.

I remove my garments and place my vision gently on my nightstand. Ironic how I'm given a geo vision and I'm not even able to use it. I lie down closing my eyes, as I drift off to bed.

|Xiao POV|

I stare at the evening sky, stars dancing and embracing one another as minutes pass by. I close my eyes for a mere moment and I hear the flapping of wings next to me.

"What brings you here cloud retainer?" I ask, eyes still closed

"One has made a discovery. In Mingyun village" cloud retainer responds quizzically

"Mingyun village? The abandoned mining town?" I ask

"Indeed, one does not know what one has found. But one is here to request the conqueror of demons investigates"

"Where in Mingyun village is this place I need to find?" I ask.

Even if whatever cloud retainer wants me to find leads to nothing it's better to ensure it isn't a threat to society.

"One believes it is in a cave near a statue of the seven, one bids you safe travels conqueror of demons" cloud retainer bows before heading back to her adeptal realm I presume.

Mingyun village huh? Let's just hope it's not a threat.

I walk near the statue, and sure enough there's an inscription on the stone. Some of these words have eroded away. I can't make any sense of it, I move my hand away and as if some lock was triggered. The stone moved revealing cobwebs and dirt.

"What is this?" I ask no one in particular

I move the cobwebs out of the way, and head into the ruins. I continue walking deeper into the darkness unable to see an inch in front of my face. Then I see light, not a blinding light but the light of the sun going down?

'How odd' I think to myself, the sun already went down. And how is the sun in here?

I walk closer and see bridges made of light, an adeptal realm? But how could that be? There weren't many adepti still around. Let alone those with adeptal realms.

I continued walking and sure enough, this was in fact an adeptal realm. But who did it belong to?
