I slam my hands down on the table, Zhongli looks up at me confused.
He's my archon, I shouldn't be doing this but I can't think of anything. Just my anger at this very moment.
"I think I deserve an explanation." I glare
"On?"
"What is wrong with Y/n? They attacked me days ago and now they're not waking up. So what exactly is wrong?"
He simply sighs
"Did they say anything? When they attacked you?"
"...No. they just stared blankly. Why?"
"when was the last time you had a nightmare, or a spur when the weight of your debt hit you?"
"What?"
"Answer the question. So I can create an answer." He states
He's acting so seriously about this, zhongli. What have you done?
Well I might as well answer , when was my last nightmare? Well other than the fact that I haven't slept in a while...I've been fine. And The weight has been easier..
"I don't exactly know how long it's been..."
"So it's just as I thought.. I think y/n is somehow absorbing your karmic debt"
My eyes widen..
They can't be doing that! They already have so much of it.
I grab his shirt collar lifting him up, why am I suddenly so angry?
"Why did you leave them with me? You know more about them than I do. So tell me why are you so keen about keeping them hidden."
"...I can't tell you."
"Why not."
"Follow me, it isn't safe here." He grabs my hand off his collar
He then proceeds to lead me to an alleyway. A little far from the harbour, what exactly is going on here? We head up some stairs, and pass millileth guards.
We finally stop at a mountain that oversees all of Liyue harbour. Without a moment of hesitation Zhongli starts speaking
"Originally, Y/n was an experiment of sorts. To see if there was any way to create new life from discord but I never imagined it would harm them so much. But.. then I saw how painful it was with my own two eyes. Millennia ago, we were under attack two gods came behind me but something...unexpected happened."
"Unexpected? What happened?" I ask, almost eagerly
"They went berserk, almost like they weren't...themselves. I know I created them to be a weapon but...I was harsh on them I admit it. But that's exactly why I don't want them knowing I'm Rex lapis. If they were to find out. Would their condition worsen? Because that question lingers in the back of my mind, I'm not willing to find the answer to that question"
