Chapter 9:

Dragon and Wolf stuck together, Wolf sticking close and Dragon leading them. Nedzu was showing them to the dorms.
    "As you can see, we have a nice set of dorms. We can assume you would be in your first year of highschool, so we'll be able to start you on our incredible curriculum. Since we haven't moved our current students into these dorms yet, you two may pick any room you please!" Dragon and Wolf nodded a bit.
    "... so we can stay together?"
    "If you please. Seeing as you have... well. Nothing. We'll also be taking you shopping in a few hours. So pick your room, and figure out a game plan. Then, we'll be going shopping for things such as a bedframe, mattresses, desks, and bookshelves."
    "... mattresses?"
    "Yes, mattresses. You will not be sleeping on concrete."
    "... insane."
    "It is, isn't it?" Wolf nodded a lot. "Bedframes will be a common courtesy here, so do not worry yourselves. As will mattresses, and any other necessities."
    "Will we eat slop?"
    "No you will not be eating slop," Nedzu answered. "You will be eating normal food, and not something that is much meant for dogs."
    "... Isn't that a bit harsh?" Dragon asked quietly. "It was food. It was better than nothing."
    "Well here, the bare minimum is not what you will be given. As you will be in my custody as well as this schools custody, you will be treated with human kindness and given what you not only need to survive, but what you need to thrive-"
    "I want... a fish." Wolf commented quietly to himself. "A fish. A friend. A fishy friend. A friendly fish friend-"
    "I suppose that can be arranged." Nedzu nodded. Wolf looked up in utter surprise.   
    "I was responded to."
    "Yes." Nedzu looked back with his beady eyes. Wolf blinked. "It is a kind gesture to reply to those who are speaking." Wolf tilted his head in confusion as Dragon nods.
    "... will we need to interact with this... class?" Dragon gulped.
    "We don't have plans yet. But for now, let's get you settled into some dorms. We need a vague understanding of what you know so we may start teaching you. Since it is summer, we only have until the school year to get you fully caught up."
    Dragon and Wolf both felt their hearts sink. They were gonna fail this so bad.
    "But we needn't worry about that yet. For now, dorms. Color schemes. Clothes. Books. Stuff such as that. That is the importance now." They found themselves in front of a double door, as Nedzu dug through his key ring. "Wolf be a friend and please lift me to the lock."
    Wolf, without a second thought, transformed into wolf form and lifted Nedzu to the lock. "Thank you." And the door was opened.
    It was strange inside for both Dragon and Wolf. The room smelled nice, as a wool covered the floor. Cold tiles, but not ones stained with blood and fecal matter, but only lemon scented cleaning chemicals. Wolf instantly went to taste it with curiosity as Nedzu stopped him.
    "It is a chemical agent. Not advised for consumption." Wolf slightly recoiled, falling back to Dragons feet, who stared down at him.
    "We can't eat chemicals I guess." Sad days. Wolf nods, turning back to protect Dragon from any threat. Of course, there were none yet, but who knows what could happen.
    Nedzu couldn't help but smile as the boys looked around. Curious, and excited. Not petrified as he may have been in their state. They stuck together like brick and mortar, looking at every crack and crevice. Nedzu was already scheming on how to get these boys ready for learning. With a base, they could begin a foundation, and then a structure. He just knew these boys would make fine heroes-
    "Wolf what did I say about the chemicals??" Nedzu grimaced. Dragon and Wolf were now BOTH trying to lick the chemicals off the floor. "They're toxic and will make you very sick. Please come along and pick out your rooms." well, they would be great heroes. With a lot of work.
