L-O-V-E
A mere monosyllabic word
Yet reason for hundreds of battles
Thousands of smiles
And millions of tears
Often confused to glory
It's not about Prince Charming taking you on a unicorn
Flying above the clouds
Bathing in majestic rainbows
It's not about a brave demigod
Burning the mighty hydra
And wooing the damsel
It's not even about compatibility
It is about the commitment
To grow together
Old and wise
Being the comfort in the end
Their embrace your home
Holding hands during the breeze
Holding tighter during the storm
Alas, they say it gives more sorrow than joy
For it is people who forget to pray one thing
Ability to love someone the way we want to be loved
Their pain to hurt you
Their accomplishments reason to your felicity
Being the night sky to their stars
Wish for the strength
To demand an eternity with them
That is heroism in love
Not everybody has inbuilt
But can always hope and strive for
One day I hope
