Monsters in my closet
-----❧-----

You stumble on your bed awake,

and wake your parents for your sake.

You tell them you see a monster.

Hiding beneath the clothes' hanger.

A hollow echoing sound,

You could hear it all around.

Wait, what is it?

A monster's growl.

It hides deep in your core,

In crevices and pore.

It waits for the right time,

'Til you fall and drink wine.

What do you see?

Each time you look in the mirror?

Do you feel glee?

Or does it fill you with horror?

They say it's only your mind.

But you don't listen and find

The vile monster with its bind.

Inside, it thrives with its kind.

The face is distorted.

Its features are rusted.

Its yellow eyes are dusted

With the powers he vested.

I see no woman or man.

But a monster with a plan.

Sneak in closets or under a van.

Scaring people and making them wan.

It's hiding inside you,

Influencing you to

Do such an evil thing

Like hurting or killing.

What do you see?

Each time you look in the mirror?

Do you feel glee?

Or does it fill you with horror?

The monster unleashed

There's no time to grieve

Or to find reprieve

Or to beseech.

You deeply regret to fall

Into temptation.

Answering the monster's call.

There's no salvation.

What do you see?

Each time you look in the mirror?

You see the scary monster.

Its features vivid with color.
