"The Piano that Played a Sad Tune" - A Saiouma Oumasai Fanfic

"W-Where are we?!"

*_Suichi POV_*

*BANG*

"HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE?!"

A loud, high pitched screaming voice woke me up, along with loud banging sounds. I thought that I had opened my eyes, but when I did, it was still pitch black. The voice continued, and so did the banging.

*BANG BANG BANG* "PLEASE, SOMEBODY, HELP ME! I CAN'T SEE AND I'M TRAPPED!"

Wait! The person can't see either!? But, wait....trapped?! I felt around and then realized that I was also trapped in some tall, but compact metal box. Was it....a locker! I knew it! These feel almost exactly like the ones at my old school! I replied to the voice, knowing that the person wasn't evil since they were in the same problem as me.

"H-hello! I can hear you! I'm also trapped! I think that we're inside of a locker!"

The voice replied, "A LOCKER?! WHY ARE WE INSIDE OF A LOC-"

Just as the voice was about to finish their sentence, I fell forward.

"AH-!" *THUMP*

I fell out of the locker flat on my face.  It really hurt, but I've felt worse. I looked around, only to find myself in a classroom, but it wasn't a normal classroom. It had all sorts of plants and mosses growing out of the walls and floorboards. Just as I was about to get up to get a closer look, I spotted something. It looked like......a girl!

"H-hey! Are you okay?!"

As I asked the girl if she was okay, she looked up at me with a terrified face.

"Y-yes, but who are you?! W-Where are we?!" she asked in a nervous tone.

"I'm the person who you were talking to while we were both in lockers, remember?" In an effort to comfort her, I tried to smile, but it ended up looking more like nervous smile. It seemed to calm her down a little bit, though she still seemed very unsure.

"O-Oh! Yea, I remember you! Thanks for talking to me earlier. I was beginning to worry that I was all alone in darkness! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kaede Akamatsu! The Ultimate Pianist!"

Her mood seemed to completely change from scared, to beaming positivity in an instant. Was she trying to act positive to cheer me up now?

"I-I'm Suichi Saihara. The Ultimate Detective. I-It's nice to meet you Kaede."

"Wow! Your a detective?"

"Y-yea-"

"That's so cool!"

The girl continued to talk about how cool being a detective must be and how she loved playing piano since she could first move around. I just awkwardly smiled in response to most of what she was saying. The way that she went on and on, squealing about everything and getting excited....was sort of......adorable. Wait?! Did I just call her-

"Hey! You okay Suichi? You look really red! Are you sick?!"

I was so concerned about what I had just thought about, that I didn't even think about how red I'd gotten. Oh, this is so embarrassing....

Just as I was about to answer her after standing there awkwardly for a couple seconds, a loud bell-like sound started playing. After the sound played, a very loud, obnoxious, and almost childish voice came over the intercom.

"Puhuhuhuhuhu! This is your headmaster! Please proceed to the gym! If you don't, you'll be punished! Puhuhuhuhuhu!"

"P-PUNISHED?! What is this?!" Kaede frantically screamed

Kaede was freaking out. What did he mean? Headmaster? Are we in school?! Punished? Like detention? Suspension? Expulsion?!

"W-We should probably head over to the gym." I said with another nervous smile in an attempt to calm Kaede down.

"Y-Yea. You're probably right. Let's go" Kaede said, taking deep breathes as she walked over to the door.

*-Time skip to when walking down hall-*

"S-Suichi. W-What is that?! W-What the H-Hel-" Kaede stuttered as we walked down the hall. I quickly quieted her by motioning her to be quiet. What did she see? I don't know. All I knew is that if there was something there, we should be quiet.

Kaede began to violently tap my shoulder, motioning me to  turn around. I turned around only to see.....a huge robot!

Before I had any time to think about what I had just saw, I grabbed Kaede's arm and we darted down the hall.

"Kaede! Keep and eye out for a big door that says gym! Gyms usually have big doors!" I instructed her to look for the the gym while I tried to lose the robot. Eventually, after a couple minutes of running around, Kaede yelled, "There! There's the gym! Go to the bright red doors!" I quickly ran to where she was pointing, and we managed to get inside of the gym before the robot could find or reach us.

We finally made it to the gym. As Kaede and I turned around, we saw a large group of people. Who where they?

-(Author's note) Sorry that this is a short-ish chapter. I tried my best to make this story have more storyline to it. I wanted to have more in the story than only Suichi hanging out with Kokichi, but don't worry, this is definetly saiouma :D. It also takes a lot longer to write stuff out than it does to think it. If I could just put my thoughts in here instead of typing (which isn't too fast or easy to do bc mistakes ya'know ; 'D) it would be much faster. I will try my best to make chapters a little bit longer and write more often once I start more of the story, but I think that this chapter length is okay for now. Have a swag day tho 😎-
