"Come on come on!" I muttered, quickly curling my hair. One piece of my chestnut hair kept falling straight.
I hurried out of my room and skipped down the stairs. I realized that I'd forgotten pants.
"Shoot!" I cried. I couldn't believe how flustered I was. It was just a party. Nothing special. Jessica and Kate wouldn't have done anything to hurt me. They know better than to invite HIM.
I sighed, thinking of HIM. I felt sad now. I pushed the thought of my ex out of my head. He used to be my best friend, of ten years actually. I'd had a crush on him for forever, and last summer he finally asked me out. Well, he..
My phone buzzed. I picked it up, struggling to slip into my jeans one handed.
"Hi Shelly!" My mom's voice greeted me.
"Hi Mom!" I cheerfully responded.
"Just wanted to let you know that Dad parked your Mustang out front before we left!" she explained.
"Thanks! And my keys?" I asked.
"I left them on the kitchen counter." Mom answered. I decided to hangup on my mother so I could hurry and gets Jessica's party.
"Alright, I gotta go." I hinted.
"Okay! Tahiti awaits your father and I anyway." Mom said. A dial tone soon followed.
I dashed down the marble spiral staircase, grabbed my keys, then ran out the front door. Parked on our turnaround was my beautiful turquoise 1970 Mustang, shiny, clean, and expensive. But money had never been a problem for my family. When you're an only child with loaded parents, why would it?
Our fountain misted the lawn surrounding it. Heat waves rolled off the still hot asphalt. Pink streaks lined the Phoenix sunset sky.
I stepped into my car and turned on my playlist. It was a mish mash of a bu ch of music.
I pulled out of my driveway and steadily drove down the city roads. I had just gotten my full license, I was 16, and really didn't want it revoked.
I merged onto the freeway and pulled up to 65 mph. My classic car was very loud, so I cranked the music up to match it. Drag Me Down by One Direction began.

The main run came on and I belted it out. My foot smashed down on the pedal unconsciously as I sang. The final note played and I saw the speedometer. 100 miles an hour.

"May I see your license?" Officer Perkins asked. He had a gravelly voice and gray balding hair.
"Sure." I muttered, fumbling in my wallet for it. I pulled it out and flash it to the officers face.
"Ma'am, you have a lovely picture." Officer Perkins smiled. It was kind of creepy.
"Uh thanks." I automatically responded.
"Oh! There seems to be an issue with your license." The policeman frowned.
"Really?" I skeptically asked. I'd gone over the thing about 100 times.
"Yes. It appears to be counterfeit." Officer Perkins accused. He seemed almost glad.
I cursed. How could that have happened? My brain swarmed with questions as the officer guided me to the back seat of the squad car. At least I think it was a squad car, I was very confused.
"In the car ma'am. We'll get this all situated at the DMV." Officer Perkins soothed.
I shakily sat down. I thought it was odd that there wasn't the gate between the back and front seat. I looked at the ceiling to stop the spinning, and save a blood splatter.
There was nothing in or on this car resembling a police car. I was being kidnapped. I began hyperventilating.
"You alright girlie?" Officer Perkins asked me.
I gathered myself partially for my plan. "Yes, thank you. I forgot my phone in my car, can I get it?"
"Quickly now." 'Officer Perkin's responded. I was positive that wasn't his real name.
I jumped out of the car and grabbed my phone. Then I began to start the engine.
"Can't have you doing that!" The kidnapper yelled. I struggled to escape his iron grip. I jabbed my fingers in his eyes kneed him below the belt.
He went down and I slammed my door shut. I sped away on a course to Jessica's house. Surely the kidnapper wouldn't follow me to a group of teenagers.
I kept seeing the kidnapper's black Mercedes with the red and blue racing stripes. Or maybe I was imagining it...
"Yay! You came!" Kate squealed as she opened the door. Her blue eyes brightened and her blonde hair glistened in the evening light. She and Jessica looked exactly the same, they were twins after all.
"Hi!" I answered. She led me to their backyard. Their perfectly manicured lawn was covered in chairs and a huge white screen stood in a corner. Jessica was plugging in a projector.
"Hey Jessica!" I cried, running up to hug my best friend.
"Shelly!"Jessica grinned.
We sat down in chairs and the horror movie started. Someone's hand grazed my shoulder. I whipped around to see HIM. Dave. My ex best friend/crush/boyfriend.
"Can we talk?" he whispered.
I stiffened. "No."
"Please?" he begged.
"Fine." I grumbled.
We crossed the lawn silently and stood under the Parker's porch.
"I want you back." he breathed into my ear.
"Too close," I pushed him away, "and too late."
"Shelly, maybe this'll help." Dave smiled. He pulled me closer and kissed me. I recoiled and shoved him away.
"How dare you?!" I cried. I sprinted out the front door, only to see 'Officer Perkins'.
"Got her Uncle Sam." Dave grunted.
Dave trapped my and punched me. Everything went black.
