Beca:
Four months after I had asked Chloe to marry me, we were working in the studio together. A few days after I had proposed to her, she had written a song she wanted me to produce for her. That's what we were currently working on. Chloe was in the booth, singing a part of the song she thought hadn't been good enough.
Thinkin' of ya when I'm goin' to bed
When I wake up think of ya again
You are my homie, lover and friend
Exactly whyYou light me up inside
Like the 4th of July
Whenever your around
I always seem to smileAnd people ask me how
Well your the reason why
I'm dancing in the mirror and singing in the shower
Ladade ladada ladada
Singing in the shower
Ladade ladada ladada
Singing in the showerWhen she was done, she looked very happy with herself.
"That was great, Chlo!" I said through the mic that was connected to the booth.
"Yeah, I think I like it like that." She answered and opened the door to the booth.
"Finally." I teased her. "As if it wasn't perfect the first 5 attempts." I playfully rolled my eyes. She put her hand on my chest, pushing me back together with my chair, sticking out her tongue.
She had finished the rest of the lyrics earlier, so I told her I would be doing the rest of the editing on my laptop and then show her once I was done. I put my headphones on and started nodding my head to the rhythm. I never got tired of listening to Chloe's voice. I was working on the final touches of the song, lost in my little bubble of music, when I felt two hands on my shoulders and a kiss on my cheek. I saved the current progress, turned around and took off my headphones, letting them rest around my neck.
"I made dinner. You hungry?" She asked, giving me a peck on the lips.
"Dinner? How long have I been working on this?" I replied in disbelief. When I was working in my studio, I would often lose track of time.
"A solid 2 hours." Chloe replied and repeated her question. "So, are you hungry?"
"Starving actually." I said, while getting up from my chair, stretching my arms out into the air as soon as I was standing.
We went downstairs and sat down at the dining table. While we were eating we talked about her song.
"How's it going, Becs?" Chloe asked me between taking a bite from her dinner and a sip from her glass of water.
"It's going really well. I'm done. Although I have to tell you, I didn't do much to it. You're just a natural." I winked at her and she chuckled a little.
A few minutes later, I had just taken a sip from my glass of water, I got a call. I put down my glass, swallowed and then grabbed my phone to look at the caller ID. It was Aubrey. She had become Chloe's manager too after she had published her first song.
"Babe, it's Aubrey. I'm sorry, but I have to take this." I said while getting up from the table.
"Really Becs?! We're just having dinner. She can wait a few minutes." She rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed.
I had already taken the call and went outside to talk to Aubrey.
"Hi, Bree. What's up? Can you try to keep it short? I was just having dinner with Chloe."
"Hey, Beca. Sure. I have great news. You're going on tour again. Worldwide this time!" She said in a cheerful tone.
"A world tour?" My eyes widened.
"Yes. I'll tell you the details tomorrow. Now go back to eating dinner with Chloe. I don't want her to get mad at me for keeping you from her for too long." She chuckled and hung up.
I was standing on my balcony for a moment, shocked about the news.
"What did she want?" Chloe asked once I was sitting at the table again.
"She just told me I'm supposed to go on tour again." I said while taking a bite from my dinner.
"That's great Becs!" She smiled, but it fell seconds later. "How long will you be gone for?"
"I don't know any details yet. She'll tell me tomorrow. I just know that it's going to be a world tour this time."
"Oh wow." Chloe looked at me and smiled, but I could tell she was thinking about what it would mean for us because I did too. I got a heavy feeling in my stomach thinking about being separated from her for months.
The next day I was sitting in Aubrey's office and she was explaining the details of the tour to me.
"You're going to be gone for 6 months total, with shows in Sydney, Auckland, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Moscow, Copenhagen, Athens, Rome, Paris, Berlin, London and Dublin in that order. The tour starts in two weeks. From Dublin you're going to go to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, New York City and then over to the west coast via Chicago and Portland. You're going to be playing in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Your last show will be Las Vegas."
"Two weeks?! And you couldn't have told me a little earlier?" I asked shocked.
"I just managed to sort out the last of it a few days ago. You should be glad I landed you this tour, Mitchell."
"I am, Posen. But still." I zoned out into my thoughts. I would be gone for 6 months. How would I tell Chloe?
