The corridor heading to the Medic is the same white like in the entrance room. They meet a couple of guys in lab coat seemingly walking with a tab in their clutch in the corridor. None of them pays any attention to both Alexander and Gregory.

Medical Ward has unsuspicious white doors exactly like the one in hospitals. The other doors In the corridor has security scans and thick frame, these doors only swings open easily. Grateful of this, Gregory walks in with Alexander leading the way. Inside, a normal room with around three hospital beds in individual chamber and a desk with a glass stand behind them fill to the brim with medicine bottle in the back. A metallic tang from stainless steel left in the open air. The room strangely reminds Gregory of his school stinky infirmary, except the quietness of the room set them apart. No bleeping machines or calls of assistance.

A Medical Ward with no medic, weird.

“Officer Lenz, I am made aware with the fact that the man you’re with identity doesn’t match with Officer Gregory Ross. Please, explain yourself before I notified the proper authority to handle this complication”. Dis computerized tones booms in the silence of the room.

This statement causes Gregory to think the worst possible outcome (rabid rats made to torture hm into submission); Alexander calmly takes his phone out of his pocket. “Activate Apollo program-“. His phone projects a set of codes into the air.

“Replacing Officer Gregory Ross identity with this man, please. Please use the security protocol appropriately, Dis”.

From the ceiling, Ian’s computerized body and face appears in the middle of the room, a blue light scans Gregory’s body next. In the screen, Ian’s feature is adjusted to Gregory’s. His official ID photo is changed into Gregory’s driver license picture. In an instant, Gregory Ross identity registered in the Base changes into the actual Gregory’s identity. Every record about Ian’s work in this place changes into Gregory’s. No more Ian using Gregory’s name for cover. The process finishes under than five minutes, for all these people know, Gregory is the one who has worked there not Ian. Except if they actually know him. A gasp of wonder escapes Gregory’s lips.

“All done, Officer. And would you let me brief this man of our work and give him the proper warning? .” Alexander waves his hand in assent, “Make it quick, and give me the bandage for this fucking rib, Dis”. Gregory opens and closes his mouth several times before capable of forming words.

“What in the name of God’s grace is all that?” Gregory a bit ashamed to admit it but he does look into the ceiling when asking that question. “

The A.I system is our backbone, everything starts and ends in Dis. She handles our production, marketing, sales, command. Everything is stored in her and processed within her. The CIA lent us her basic programming when we first started” answered Alexander.

“Our operative name is The Base, we started in the early 1970 to produce medicine and artifical stimuli. Our specialty is mental health stimuli and pain medication. Our hiring of military personnel is to assure our sale and sales chain all over the world. We work above government and above law-“ Dis briefing is accompanied with a couple of some chemistry reaction, people working in labs, and suspicious looking man in suit. Like Jehovah Witness but with an injection of Men in Black vibe.

Alexander holds his hand up, signaling Dis to a pause.

“I will take it from here, call the nurse in” commands Alexander.

Gregory is standing, frozen, completely unaware of what to do with the information Dis just given. “Basically, you’re like a cartel? But more sophisticated?” asked Gregory.

Before Alexander has a chance to answer Gregory’s question, a female nurse walks in to the room. She doesn’t dress in a nurse uniform but a Red Cross band on her lab coal indicates so. The existence of other people in the room immediately put a hold into the conversation. A sign that whatever Alexander told Gregory is a private matter.

The nurse motions Alexander to sit by one of the bed and takes out her tablet. Alexander sits, with his shirt hanging open, showing the bruise that formed there because of the fight between him and Ian. Gregory glances at his direction and is distracted right away. Openly staring, Gregory clears his throat, shifting his foot from left to right. Give Gregory Ross a well-defined torso, and he will be as distracted as five year old with sweets. Alexander, oblivious to the attention is staring ahead, waiting for the nurse diagnose.

“Your ribs are merely bruised, nothing big. Just don’t put too much pressure on them”. In a professional tone, the nurse informed Alexander.

Alexander licks his lips, the movement is caught Gregory by surprise. Swallowing, feeling the dryness in his throat, once again Gregory is reminded with his headache. Gregory comes by the side of the bed and pats the nurse.

“Can I have something for my headache?. It has been brewing inside my head since early this morning”. Giving him a smile, the nurse went to the medicine cabinet, out of the hearing. “We need to get you on board and informed, quickly. Eli is getting on her nerves, we have a situation in Russia that needs our attention” quietly Alexander said to Gregory.

The nurse comes back with a prescription bottle and hands it to Gregory. “Drink this for the pain, you know the rules” said the nurse. Not knowing the rules but cannot gave the nerve to say it to the nurse. Gregory simply nods in response. Alexander’s shirt is still halfway open, the man himself preoccupies with his phone. Gregory's mind is also preoccupied, with the sight of Alexander chest exposed, in a rather unfairl manner to him.

How can he keep thinking he is an asshole with abs like that?.

“Officer Lenz and Officer Ross, please come to my office for report”, Gregory flinches by the voice. I

t’s not Dis’ but another woman with more command to it. Alexander stands up, his shirt is shrugging off his shoulder by his sudden movement. Gregory, being snapped out of his reverie, moves his hand to Alexander’s shirt to fix it. Like a man on a trance, Gregory buttons up Alexander shirt, and about to fixes his collar, when Alexander’s nose brushes his hair. They are standing way too close for Gregory's comfort Suddenly, Gregory is hyper aware of every nerves on his body, nausea rises in his stomach. The closeness of their bodies startle Gregory so much, he jerks himself backward and trips.

“Bloody hell- shit,” cursing loudly, Gregory’s ass hit the cold tiles. Alexander catches his flailing limbs. grabbing Gregory’s elbow, he pulls him up.

“Gregory, I swear to God, behave yourself”, Alexander scolds Gregory like he would do to an unruly child.

Yeah, Gregory forgets the man itself is a complete stuck up asshole. No amount of washboard abs can make up with that fact. Alexander drags him by his hand, out of the medical ward.  Gregory shoves the man’s hand away. He walks away from Alexander, shoving his hand inside his gym shorts pocket.

“You don’t even know the way, you moron!” said Alexander, his lips pinches toge.her.

Gregory left him with a wave out of the door.

It takes three wrong doors and an accidental trip to the women’s loo before Gregory could admit the stupidity of his action. A female worker threatens him with a suspicious looking syringe after his shout of Marco goes unanswered by Alexander. Scratching his chin, he leans on the receptionist desk, after a pleading to the said female worker to show him where is the entrance. Alexander the Agent seems could not keep up with his lightning quick sprint in the place or he is too ashamed to admit he is the one who brings Gregory here.

Laughter escaped his mouth, realizing how stupid he makes Alexander looks. Doing a cat and mouse game with a grown man in an underground facility. Gregory tilts his head to the ceiling and sighs audibly. He glances to the corridor from where he has come in before.

“Alexander dammit, what kind of agent could not keeps up with a struggling college student like me?. Jeez, talks about being professional here” mutters Gregory.

He turns his back from the corridor and a sudden sharp pain explodes in his neck. Yelping, his hand grabs the back of his neck in an instant.

A fucking dart just being shot at him. And Gregory’s world turns pitch black in a second.
