HAVE YOU EVER ALMOST DIED BUT SAVED BY AN ANGEL IN DISGUISED?

I was rushing out the school. I was late for the community service meeting down a few blocks, time was so dangerous when you didn't take care of it. I was so distracted on getting there on time. I saw the green light; it was my turn to cross the street but of course you have to be careful. Always be careful.

The noise was loud, a car's honk right in front of me. The car just a few centimeters away but I couldn't see it. A body was blocking it, someone between me and the car. Someone I didn't know, his arms around my waist. The first thing I saw were his eyes, light brown. Intense. There was a feeling of darkness in them. They were staring down at me, as if making sure I was okay. Suddenly turning around.

"Didn't you fucking see the red light? Asshole!" He screamed facing the car. "You could've killed her!"

I couldn't move or say a word. He grabbed my hand pulling me to the other side of the street. He's hand was burning around my wrist. We were now safe on the sidewalk.

"Thank you!" I was finally able to say, as I took a deep breath.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I noticed the side of his face, scratched, reddish. I panicked.

"ARE YOU OKAY?" I asked ignoring his question. Too quick to realize that of course that hadn't happened right now.

He smiled, letting out the air he had being holding on his lungs. "Yeah! I'm okay." He answered. "You should be more careful."

"Of course!" I agree, remembering why I had been so distracted in the first place. "I need to go but thank you again." I added before rushing away.

I thought I heard him say something else, but I was too far away to understand any of it.

Of course, I was late. Everyone was there already, I rushed into the front of the room. Everyone's eyes on me.

"I'm here! I'm sorry I'm late. I had a small accident." I explained, out of air from runnig here.

"Small wouldn't describe it correctly!" Someone said from the back of the room, as I placed my stuff over the table.

Him, I was surprised. My saviour, here. Had he followed me? I did leave without even asking his name.

"Community Service, right?" He asked, looking round.

"Yes. Welcome to your new favorite place..." I joked, of course he hadn't followed me here. I regretted not asking his name before.

"Marcus Baker!" He said as if reading my mind.

"Nice to meet you, Marcus. I'm Margaret Ferrer, you can call me Mac or however you please." I added as he got closer to me, his hand stretched out. Took it in my hand, it felt different from before. Soft but the small electric feeling was gone.

"Nice to officially meet you." He smiled again, still holding my hand. I realized that even when his face was half plastered with fresh bruises, he was cute, and he knew it.

I let go of his hand. "You can take a sit anywhere." I added with a smile, looking around at our empty seats as he did the same and went to the nearest one.

"So, let's start." I added.
