When I Moved To Australia Chapter 6

"Do you wanna take my car?" Kathy asks in a small voice. She's still sick.

"Sure," I say. "Is there anything I can buy you?"

"No thanks," She says.

"Okay. Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?"

"Yeah, I'll ring you if I need you."

"Okay, see you!"

"Bye! Don't get lost!!"

I drive around town for a while and find a parking spot. I have to call Ryan.

"Heya, whats up sis?" Gosh, how can he be so casual in such a situation

"Where are you?" I ask.

"New York, why?" He says.

"Just wondering. Thank goodness your not anywhere near me,"

"Why?!" 

"So you don't  ruin my life! You do still remember you're a wanted criminal?"

"Uh..."

"Oh gosh. Your just partying in New York having the time of your life, aren't you?"

"Well, it would be jus a shame if they put me in jail and I hadn't lived life properly yet, aye?" 

"Whatever." I mumble. Then I grew louder, "Whatever, I don't care what you're doing any more! I don't care if I wake up one day and see on TV that you've finally been caught. Your a reckless, stupid, boy, Ryan!! Do you seriously not care what happens to you? Huh?

Think about mum and dad, Ryan. They thought so much of you! That you'd grow up to be an amazing person! Not the person your are now." Tears slowly ran down my face as I started to cry. 

"Wow, hey, Amelia, are you okay? Wait...are you crying? Please, don't, I'm really sorry-"

"Whatever," I repeated cutting him off, "I know you don't mean it." I hung up.

For a while I wondered if I'd been  too harsh on him. But, if her really cared, if he was really sorry, he would have stopped a long time ago. 

I got out of the car, once I was sure no one could tell I'd been crying, and heading for the super market.

Damn it. I really can't the right cream Jaymee asked for. I've been searching for ages. I did one more circle of the whole shop. I give up. As I lined up to pay for the food, I saw Jude. Our eyes met and I quickly looked away, hoping he hadn't recognised me.
