"Kinsley, what are you still doing out here?" Alice asked, stepping outside to the garden holding an umbrella. It was the second week of May and it was still slightly warm out, but the rain hadn't let up at all this week. "Come inside and get dry."
"Cerno should have been back days ago," Kinsley replied. She was sitting on the garden table, staring down the road and waiting for any sign of Samuel's sedan. "His birthday is tomorrow and he said he'd be back before it."
"I'm sure he's fine, Kins," Alice said, holding the umbrella over her daughter and chuckling. "Cities don't get built overnight."
"I know, but that's why he was going to have all of us help him," she said. "Cerno said they would be gone for two weeks while they scouted locations. We're coming up on three."
"Kins, you're just being a worry-wart. Come inside. You don't want to catch a cold for when he's back, do you?"
"No, mama," Kinsley replied, reluctantly getting to her feet. Once back inside, she saw all of her sisters laid side by side in their bed sleeping. She didn't realize how late into the evening it had gotten and walked over to her own little cot after grabbing a towel. As Alice excused herself off to bed, Kinsley sat in the quiet darkness of their little house, the rain pounding down on the roof. After she had changed into a night shirt and just as she was starting to towel-dry her hair, she thought she heard hooves outside on the gravel. Peeking out the window, she saw nothing and sat back down on her bed with a sigh.
Kinsley?
Her heart skipped into her chest and she quietly stepped back outside as quickly and as quietly as she could. Her smile glued itself to her face seeing a cloaked Cerno sitting atop of Arianell, unsure why she didn't see them through the window. "You're late," she advised.
"Sorry. I came as soon as I got back," he replied with a soft chuckle. He held out his hand to her and smiled as she ran up and took it. Pulling her up onto the horse behind himself, he looked back over his shoulder at her. "When we get out of the Shallows, hold on tight to me," he said quietly. He felt her nod against his shoulder. "All right, Aria, let's go."
The horse turned and started at a slow pace back in the direction of the stables, but once she got the go ahead from her master, she opened up into a full gallop. It was dark and raining, but Arianell didn't care.
Cerno kept his head lowered slightly as the rain hit his face and he felt Kinsley holding tightly to him, her face pressed against his back. As his horse turned into the field they cross to get to the lake, he smirked, realizing they made the journey in half the normal time.
"Are you going to explain to me why you're late? Or why we sprinted out to the lake at almost midnight?" Kinsley asked as the horse slowed and stopped under one of the thicker fir trees that were still standing in the area. She could hear the rain hitting the lake and the grass all around them and it was soothing, but the air finally was getting a chill.
"Eventually," he stated as he dismounted Arianell. He turned around and held his hands up to help Kinsley down, but the instant her feet were on the ground, he pushed his lips hungrily against hers. Still holding her by her sides, he stepped her backwards a few feet until her back met the tree they were sheltering under. Wasting no time, he undid the front of his pants and hiked up the hem of her night shirt. He quickly rolled a condom onto his member before grabbing her panties and slipping them off to one side, meeting her body with his as he slid his full length inside of her with a loud sound of mindless pleasure. The angel on his shoulder was definitely battered and bruised, no longer even trying to hold him back.
"Ah...Cer," Kinsley moaned, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as he hitched one of her thighs up onto his hip, the lake making sudden sense. Her lover was hasty in his thrusts and grunted in her ear before he lifted her completely off the ground with his strong arms and she gasped. The surprise of being lifted up was short-lived as his thrusts picked right back up and quickly drew the moans from her again like a song. Lacing the fingers of one hand through the back of his hair, she smiled hearing him moan as her fingers tightened their grasp. There was a small burl on the tree that was pressing into her lower back but she didn't care, she wanted nothing to cause him to stop.
