Chapter 8
After leaving English class, with a big smile on my face, I walked down the hallway to my next class, with my arm looped with Lissie. She went on about something to do with a party, but she was content enough with my periodic nods and smiles to keep on babbling on. While we walked, it was obvious people were staring and confused. Smirking, I looked straight ahead and for the first time, walked amidst hundreds of kids witbout a fear of being egged. Suddenly, I left someone pull at my other arm and I was being whisked away into the bathroom.
"Care to tell us what is going on?!" Evelyn shouted at me, with Rae standing next to her with a concerned look.
"Did they hurt you?" Rae asked, looking for any food in my hair. I laughed and shook my head.
"Everything is finally coming together," I said, spinning around in the tiny school bathroom.
"What? Seriously what is happening right now?"
"I've gotta run, I can't be late for Photography, I'll talk to you guys later," I said, running to the stairwell to get to class.
Like an obedient puppy waiting for its owner, my camera sat, sitting in its locker. As soon as I wrapped my hands around it, I immediately felt relieved from everything that had happened today. I sat down in my seat and sat up straight, eager to get my mind off of things. Then, I felt someone tap my shoulder.
"Oh, hey, I forgot you were in this class," I said with a grin.
"Yeah, I was too scared to talk to you," Blaze said, chuckling. I laughed and turned around, looking at his camera.
"Hey, we have the same camera," I mused, impressed that he was actually using a good body and lens combo, unlike the rest of the class. We fell into a conversation about cameras and photography until our teacher finally started class.

"Do you want to come to my party tonight?" Noah asked me when I came home, never looking up from his phone
"What?"
"I'm asking you a question. Forget it. I just thought it was some sort of indication that people didn't egg you today that you finally apologized to your friends for sleeping around for test scores," Noah effortlessly rolled off his tongue, all while texting.
"What the fuck Noah?" I snapped back. Did my own brother actually believe the things Jenavieve was spreading about me? "No, I'm coming to your party. It's at my own fucking house, you don't need to ask me permission." I ran upstairs and slammed my door shut.
