Chapter 3.

*Flashback 5 years*

Boom! "Get after it! I shot the damn thing!!" An angry voice screams from behind.

Running away at full speed, Levi had not exactly expected to be greeted by werewolf hunters. Idiot who wont let us live in peace. There was 5 of them and one of me. Managing to wound one of them when he got to close was good. They'd slow down to help their own.

Turning to run, I saw it, a gun. Boom! Searing pain rippes through my shoulder, knocking me over for a second. I have to get away!! Climbing to my feet, I take off running, being down one leg makes this more tricky, good thing Im in my wolf form. Pains more managable. Running through the woods at full speed, not watching where Ill end up, i spot a building. A barn! I dash into the barn, and find a hiding spot.

"Damn it!! Find that damn dog!" One of the hunters scream. "Check the barn" "Yes Sir"

The door creeps open wider, a loud squeak accompany it. Slinking back farther into my hiding spot, hopefully they dont spot me. With my injuries its smart to hide and fight another day, then die now. The idiot walks right past me. "Its not in here boss! Just nasty hay!" "Its too dark now! We will never find the bastard now!" "Right fall back!" "We'll check again once day breaks, he's wounded pretty bad and wont make it far."

Their retreating good. Waiting for a while took a lot to stay awake. The bleeding seems to have stopped for now. Making my way out, checking my surrounding as I go. A house, and a truck. Seems someone lives here... theres a few ways this could go, either I bleed out an die, or ask for help and they shoot me too, or Ill steal the truck..... Ill steal the truck. If i can make it close to a vet I can get medical help without answering questions.

Changing forms hurts alittle already, but with a buck shot wound to your shoulder it hurts ten times worse. Groaning in pain, I stumble to the truck. The doors unlocked, Im guessing this the farm truck, looking around I find the key in the cup holder. Placing the key in the engine, taking a deep breathe "please work!" Turning the key, the truck stutters a few times before kicking to life. Putting it in reverse, a light flicks on in the house "shit gotta go!" Slamming on the breaks and putting it in drive, speeding out of there. In the mirror I see an old man slam the front door open, shouting something, a gun piontes at me and the truck. Swerving the truck alittle, I turn out of the way, no longer in the sight of the man.

Found it.its early in the am now. Suns starting to come up. Parking the truck a ways off, I transform and limp my way to the clinic as soon as I get to the front door, I immediately pass out.

Pov. Unknown

"Holy shit!" They looked down in horror on the front step of the vet clinic was a wolf! An injuryed one too! Better call for help.

-time jump-

"Surgery when well, give the boy a few days. And he should be ready to leave. He will be staying in Shawnata's animal shelter,Hanji!" The desk receptionist says.

"Yes! Thank you so much for saving my puppy~~~ he's a huskey mix, so he often gets mistaken for a wolf! My poor baby!" Hanji cries.

"Hanji please stop. Hello? "

"Yes?"

"This is Erwin, sorry for Hanji, they can be a bit extreme."

"Oh its no issue!" She chimes back.

"I just wanted to let you know, we should be there in a few hours. Thank for your time and taking care of our dog" Erwin finishes.

"Yes its no problem, Ill let the shelter know. Have a good day!"

"Thank you, you as well" They both hang up.

Pov change. Levi!

Slowly blinking awake, Levi found himself on the ground, lying spread out on a blanket. His should bandaged. 'They must have done surgury to remove the pellets. Thats good.....wait.. Surgery......they didnt...' shooting up Levi lefted up his back leg. 'Ooohh, thank gods. Their still there' lying flat again with a heavy relieved sigh. 'Hopefully they contacted Erwin or Hanji'

"Chime, chime" (bell sounds???) 'Huh someone must be here'

"Hello" was all that could be heard, even with my hearing, I wasn't looking to hear. In walked three women, two of which were younger, teens probably. And the shelter staff. They stopped to pet some of the cats and dog. The taller one of the two stopped next to me an asked what happened to me.

"RAVILLE!! MY BOI!!" Hanji screamed coming in. Growling 'please shut up Hanji' towards them. "pfft" a laugh was heard. Eyes all snapped to one of the teens. "Sorry," She says quietly "couldn't help myself. So your name Raville,huh? I like that name it suits you!" She says with a bright smile.

I hear Erwin tell Hanji to calm down, Hanji jumping like an excited toddler.

"well we should keep looking around, don't wanna keep them from their dog." she says

"Yup" the other replies curtly.

Staring up at her, she says "Well,guess this is goodbye" holding her hand out, silently asking if its ok to pet me. I stood up to meet her hand, it was warm and soft on my head. Quietly she says "handsome boy." 'Yes. i am' I thought back. Hearing a coo from next to us. I glare at Hanji. The girl laughs and asked confusedly "what?" Looking back at her, I missed what they said, only seeing a small blush light up her face. 'Cute'

"well, we better head out. Its..." shes pause to look at her phone for the time "4pm already. And we have a ways home still."

"Awe, i was hoping we could talk more! You and Raville seem to like each others company!" Hanji chirps with a wide smile. 'Bitch' I move to walk towards Hanji, we need to leave.. "Hey, Ravi! Look here!" I snap my head around 'Ravi?' Click 'huh? A phone?'

"Sorry, hope you don't mind, we just won't be ever seeing you again, and i'd like to remember ya." She says awkwardly, giving my head anouther pat. I give a huff in laughter, just staying still.

"Well we should keep looking around, don't wanna keep then from the dog." She says to her friend, the friend responding in kind. Before they snuck past us and left.

Once they had left, Erwin made quick work of talking to the nurse and signing the papers and paying the bill. Making our way to the car, Hanji and Erwin in the front, Erwins driving thank gods. We get a ways away before I transform, good thing theres spare cloths. Groaning I sit back into my seat. "Thanks for getting me outta there guys."

"Levi" Erwin growls out "what the hell happened?!" He doesn't look at me, well cant really.

"Yea, Levi! You really scared us when yoU dissappeared, then the call from the vet too?? Good thing we thought of micro chips." Hanji adds in quitely.

"I figured since we were in such a small town for a bit, Id go for a run. Next thing I know those damn hunters are chasing me. Injuried one before they got me. Hid in an old barn for a bit till they left. Then stole a truck and drove around until I found the vets. You know the rest." I grumbled out, rubbing my face with my hand. "You got anything to eat? Im straving" "Here" Hanji chucks a granola bar at me.

"So, hunters found you.."

"Yea"

"We need to warn the rest, before we head back home."

"Yea... I know."

Silence over takes the car for a while. Each of us deep in thought over this new information.

"Soooooooo, levi." Says hanji

"What?" I say, hanji voice snapping me out of my thoughts.

"You seemed to like that girl" i could see Hanji wiggle her eyebrows from the side mirror. 'tch, annoying' I thought/mumbled.

"While arent you gonna say anything??" Hanji demands

"Yes, Im quite curious as well. Iv never seen you let anyone touch you before that you didnt know." Erwin says.

"Tch, i dont know. She just didnt seem that bad." I grumble out.

"Yea, sure~~"

"Tch, just drop it hanji! Lets go get some food."

"Ok,ok."
