I was so nervous about this date with Jamal. He is such a nice guy. I haven't been on a date in so long. I got all of this going on with the kids and the case. I just need this break. I put on my clothes and got dolled up. I looked in the mirror and smiled.
I haven't seen myself like this since...well since Damion. Tears filled my eyes as I thought about him. There was a knock on my door knocking me out my thoughts. I cleared my throat and spoke.
"Come in." Anastasia said.
In walks Destiny. She looked at her mom up and down.
"And where are you going dressed like this mama?" She asked her.
"I'm going out to dinner." Anastasia said as she put in her ear rings.
"With? We don't know nothing about no date let alone a man mama." Destiny said folding her arms across her chest.
Anastasia turns and faced her daughter.
"Not that it is your business but I'm going to dinner with Jamal. It's just dinner. We celebrating the break in your father case." Anastasia explained.
"And we didn't get notified about this?" Destiny said.
"Don't go there with me. With all this y'all got going on I didn't have the chance to tell you nothing. But now you know so." Ana said.
Anastasia walked to her bed and sat down and put on her heels. As she was finishing up her cell phone rings. She looked at the caller id and smiled. She picked it up and answered it.
"Hey there." Anastasia said.
"Hey I was letting you know that I'm about five minutes away. So I'll be pulling up shortly. Are you ready?" Jamal asked.
"Yes I am. I was just sliding on my heels as we speak." She said getting up walking to the living room.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Anastasia walked over and opened the door. Jamal looked at her with his mouth wide open.
"Wow. You look amazing." Jamal said.
Anastasia leaned against the wall and posed.
"You like huh?" She said.
"No. I love it." Jamal said with a smile on his face.

"Let's. I can truly say I am ready for dinner with you." Anastasia said walking out the door.
