"Maybe we should knock it off." Amy said.
"Are you kidding me? What's got you scared all of a sudden?"
It was like a blindfold had finally been lifted. Anyone could see the flashing lights and hear the thunderous sound of footsteps fast approaching. They were in trouble!
"We should get out of here! If they find us, we're dead."
"Oh, don't be such a wuss! Look, we're fine."
BOOM
"What the heck; I was talking to you!"
She looked around. He never cared; that was obvious now. If he had even the slightest respect for her, he would at least get her out of there.
"Damn it! The fuse is out."
"Would you grow up? We're supposed to be having fun with our friends, not playing with matches!"
At least there wouldn't be anymore-
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
It was the finale. They had found the remaining fireworks and lit them.
As the explosions continued to ring out, Amy watched as several individuals in dark blue clothing charged toward them. The fireworks were a distraction! That means-
"Stop right there!" An officer called out to the two.
Is that a gun? Great, it's too dark outside for me to see. I can't even get a look at the guy's face.
Amy threw her hands up and remained statue like. She held her breath, knowing one wrong move would be her end.
"You coward!"
Without so much as a moment of hesitation, Mark shoved her out of his way and made a break for the nearest exit.
"STOP!"
The officer's voice echoed with a tone of superiority.
He kept running.
Instead of chasing him, the shadow spoke into an earpiece before approaching Amy. She fell to the ground, praying for mercy.
. . .
"The bastard's on the run again! Unit two, he's approaching the main entrance; CUT. HIM. OFF." The old man coughed, clearing his throat.
Camera five's feed was enlarged so they could watch as Amy was taken by Mr. Williams back inside.
"You guys see him yet?" Matthew asked, switching back to the normal size.
"Negative." Unit one's leader called in.
"What about unit two? Anything?" The Chief asked.
Mark had just narrowly escaped their grasp and was now past the gate, heading towards the market's original entrance.
"He's seeking refuge in that store!"
"I got this!" A voice from behind had said.
Emily stood there, dialing someone's phone number. She waited for the recipient to answer, and then spoke.
"Hey, Beth it's me; I need a favor. Someone is about to show up at your workplace. Yeah. Do me a favor; just keep him there until the police get there. Thanks, love you too."
