Somewhere in Salt Lake City there sat a couple in their home, watching t.v. with the local news on. A newswoman with too much blush and hair looking like it ran through a wind tunnel, reported about a theft that had taken place at a nearby bank. The man had been caught and all was well. After she finished her story, she looked sideways at the person sitting next to her. Then the camera turned to focus on a man with an aged face but thick dark brown hair whose face was grim and ready to share bad news.

"Late last night, a terrible collision occurred involving a young woman and a drunk man at the intersection of West and South Temple. The woman is in the Intensive Care Unit at this point and the hospital will not comment any further about her condition until family is reached. The man by the name of Kevin Hill is now in custody, just being released from the hospital sustaining minor injuries. It was told that the woman was returning to her apartment after work and was stopped at a traffic light, and witnesses had stated that a 2008 Dodge had zoomed around a corner and lost control and spun into the young woman's lane and hit the driver's side, which also pushed her car into a pole. We wish her luck on recovery and hope justice is on her side. Now moving onto sports with Bryan..." the man had said while a picture in the corner of the screen included a picture of the car with its front still rammed into the pole before turning to the logo for the sports broadcast.

The couple changed the channel not wanting to give attention to the news they had just heard. Of course the husband realized that his brother was in trouble. But he didn't want to realize that it was partially his fault for letting Kevin go home drunk. In fact, he hadn't known that Kevin was driving himself. Kevin's brother, Anthony, had a little get together with some friends and invited Kevin to come and socialize, knowing that he was having various struggles. Kevin had taken many drinks and didn't even bother trying to communicate with the others around him. He then said his goodbye's and walked out of the house. Anthony did not even think about stopping him. Anthony's mother had called him earlier today and let him know what had happened. His heart had felt like lead at that point and he wanted more than anything to go visit Kevin and the young lady, but he knew now wasn't a good time.

His wife felt the burden too because she also was offering beer to all those around and paid no attention to how much Kevin had been drinking. She had not thought about asking Kevin if he had a ride home after all that he drank. She knew he was drinking his feelings away, after breaking up with his long time girlfriend and losing his job. But no one could've foreseen this coming. Then again, does anyone foresee a tragedy?
