"Hello! I'm home!" yelled the teenager from the front door. Holly kicked off her shoes and set her backpack down by the entrance. After some stretching, she realized that she was home alone. Her stomach growled which made her realized she wanted a snack. Heading to the kitchen, she thought about her day at school. Peter had finally made notice of her, Whitney and her had quite a bunch of homework to do, and then they found out they had made the spring play. They both had supporting roles, which was a good start for a Sophomore, considering that Seniors normally get priority for roles.

She opened the fridge and saw that there were only leftovers of last night's casserole, and then she closed it and headed for the pantry. Opening it, she saw a box of granola bars to the right, so she reached in and grabbed one and starting ripping the bar out of its wrapper. Holly had so much going for her, but she had to make sure she stayed within reason. She wanted to finish her driver's ed class soon so that she could drive right away. And then she wanted to perform well in the spring play, so that she will get noticed easier and have better chances at bigger roles in the future. Her mother and father were very supportive of her being in theatre, considering that they themselves love theatre very much. Her older brother Josh was not too fond of it, but didn't mind it. It was her two younger sisters that got very annoyed when she tried to practice. They were both into studies and sports and had no care for the arts.

Holly wondered where everyone was at. She knew Josh was up at the local university until 6, but her sisters and parents were usually home at this time. She shrugged it off and was about to go into the living room when she saw a note on the table. It read, "Holly and Josh, me and your father are out and won't be back until late tonight. Josh will you please pick up your sisters from the junior high at 6:30 after their basketball game. Holly please make dinner. Much love! -mom."

Holly dropped the note down and rolled her eyes. She didn't know what to make and she was also home by herself. At least she didn't know how to drive yet, otherwise she would have been depended on to go pick up her sisters. Her brother never complained though. About anything. Josh was one of those people you could never get mad at because he is just that good. He was attending the local college because he was planning on becoming a pharmacist, but needed to get enough money. It had been his dream job since he was in elementary, and their parents were okay with him staying at home as long as he did his part in helping around the house.

Josh had returned from a complete two year mission just six months ago, and he quickly jumped into college, as not to waste time. Getting a job at the local Walgreens, he hardly had anytime to himself anymore. He used to play sports and videogames with Holly while growing up, and then he would help her with her homework and give her tips on how to survive junior high. Once she reached 8th grade, Josh left to fulfill his mission in Chile, while Holly went her separate way and turned into who she was today. Aside from Whitney, Josh truly was one of her best friends. She looked up to him in many ways.

However, lately Josh had been out of the house a lot more. Holly figured that he finally had a girlfriend after talking about her so much. He showed Holly this girl that he liked, but hadn't been able to ask her out. She looked very sweet and Holly wished him luck. But today was not a day to fool around after class. She hoped that he would actually be home on time today, or else the twin terrors would be stuck at their junior high. It wouldn't be a bad thing, but Holly knew her parents would be upset.

Overrall, Holly had no complaint with life, other than to hurry up and let her pass the driver's test. Never once did she think that passing her driver's test would be something so miniscule to what was going to happen to her life in the near future.
