Menma's POV

"—Once you get possession of both scrolls, head to the center of the training ground. What ever you do, don't open the scrolls! Now that that's out the way, each team will pick a random number from this box and the number will determine what gate your team will take, everyone make a single file line and once you draw a number, go collect your scroll at the tent and head to your assigned gate at once." Anko informed.

All the gennin got in line and entered the tent to collect their team scroll.

Of course, Gaara went to draw the random number while Kankuro went to collect our scroll. While me and Temari waited a little far away from the rest of the people.

Both came back and we left to find our assigned gate. Gate 14.
"Ya know, now that we know the basic layout of this place, we can just sprint to the tower and ambush the teams when they collect both scrolls." Kankuro suggested. "Yeah, but I'm guessing many other teams are planning on doing the same thing. So let's not do that." Gaara said.

"Ok, how about we camp right at the river. In a clear area. They won't expect us to hide in an empty space and they'll let their guard down." Temari said. Kankuro's eyes lit up as an idea flashed in his eyes.

"Let's set traps! Litter the place with chakra string traps! We could use seals!" Kankuro exclaimed. Gaara shook his head. "They'll obviously know it's us. Since it's an advanced tactic.
"Not if we make them sloppy. They'll think the red-heads did it. And within the awful traps, we will stash really good traps." Kankuro said.

We all let Kankuro's idea sink in.
"What if we set disability seals on them and activate it on good moments," Gaara suggested. I nodded. "Yeah, because what if we have to battle with someone strong! We could disable them with the seal!" I said. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Alright then. The plan is set. Temari and I will work on the seals, Kankuro and Gaara will work on the traps." I said. "Lets leave a stupid amount of traps and finish the test on the first day. If the opponent teams are dumb enough, they wont be able to escape and we will be cutting off some lackeys." Gaara said. "Alright. So we will set traps, get the scroll we need, and sprint to the center." Everyone nodded and we stopped at our gate.

"Alright! Now that everyone has found their gate, let's the 2nd part of the exams, BEGIN!" A loud voice rang in some nearby speakers. Just as her sentence ended, the gates opened and we sprinted inside.

Temari and Kankuro took the lead while me and Gaara lagged back. It was a formation that we've always done since back when I just moved to the sand village. We were so used to the formation that it kinda just formed automatically, almost natural.

As we jumped through the trees, almost instantly. Distant screaming could be heard in the dense forest. We merely acknowledge it and keep running. Each of us pulsing our chakra to different directions, to see if anyone was nearby.

"To our left they're some people camping, should we clear them out?" Kankuro asked. "Temari shook her head. "Gaara's sand can take care of that. Right now, our objective is the plan. That's it. We just need to get closer to the center and get as far away from the gate as we can." Temari said. "Alright."

We stopped after a few minutes of running. Deciding that this distance was enough. We got to work. Gaara and Kankuro started making small, shitty traps. Scattering them around the forest. Hiding more advanced traps within the crappy ones.

Temari and I passed through the traps, adding hidden seals to them.
"Alright. This seal should block the enemy's chakra for a day and paralyze from the neck, down." I said.
