A magical adventure to Mazora!

Chapter 6: Edna's bad day.

The next day they went to the bright future academy on their own because they know the path. And in Edna's class it was math as the first period.

"Today let the new student solve the problem. Edna dear read the first question and tell me how to do it!" their teacher called –no answer! She called again but no answer.

Edna didn't notice that her math teacher was calling her because she was day-dreaming about how to get a friend.

"Eh... Y-Yes ma'am!?"She answered shuttering sheepishly.

She was not attentive in the first class!? The whole class was staring at her and some were laughing. The teacher stared at her for five seconds. But she was pretty sure that she didn't want to scold the new child. She repeated the question again but Edna didn't know the answer.

"Okay class! Now enough, be quite!!"The teacher shouted at the class.

"No problem Edna I'll tell you!" She said to Edna sweetly.

"Ma'am me! I know the answer!! Please ma'am?" A student named Charoltte asked.

"Okay Charoltte, read the question and then answer." their ma'am said to her.

Charoltte answered. After her answer, Edna was so sad and embarrassed. She copied the answer and was fidgeting with her pen. The teacher went through some more students and then the bell rang. The math teacher took some grace time after the bell for one sum.

Then the students ran to the language rooms, French and Latin respectively. Edna chose French as her second language. She pulled out her French workbook and hurried off to class.

"Bonjour les enfant!" their French ma'am wished the students.

"Bonjour Madame!" The children wished back.

"Today our new child will read the first two stanzas in the fifth lesson. Everybody take page number fifty-two!" She said.

"Edna, start reading!" The teacher said to Edna sweetly.

"Le soleil et la Terre" Edna started to read the poem.

Edna recited the poem correctly. She is good at French and, 'le soleil et la Terre' means 'the sun and the earth'.

It was a beautiful poem about the sun and the earth's relation and how the sun never came close to the earth for the earth's safety. Edna was touched by the poem and so was the class. The teacher then explained the depth of the poem. And by the end the explanation, the class too ended.

"Merci Madame!" The students said and left the room.

Edna left with higher spirits than she had in math class.

And then it was break period where she sat lonely. Some people sniggered at Edna, recalling the incident during math class. Edna might as well have succumbed to tears. She was thinking about the poem about sun's liking for the earth. Then she heard a sweet voice from the back.

"Hello!" the voice said.

Edna turned her head back and saw a girl waving at her.

"Hi, I'm Edna what's your name?" she asked.

"Oh! Hi Edna!! I'm Elizabeth. Why are you so sad?" she asked.

"Hi Elizabeth! Are you a new student?" Edna asked her.

"Yeah, what about you?" Elizabeth asked Edna.

"I joined this school yesterday. Do you wanna sit here?" Edna offered Elizabeth.

"Come here, don't worry, okay? Now I am your friend! I know how you feels, but don't keep that in mind, leave it" Elizabeth said touchingly.

Edna had happy tears pouring out of her eyes. She was happy to see that someone is there for her in the class.

The next period was English, where they learnt grammar – Reported speech!

"You have learnt Reported speech in your lower classes! So today our new child Edna is going to tell what is reported speech in brief." their English teacher asked Edna.

"Ma'am..."Edna dragged some time.

"Ma'am me!" another student asked the teacher and said the answer correctly.

"Yah, correct! Okay sit down" the teacher said to the student and continued the class.

Edna had a guilty feeling about herself. She left the class with a bad taste in her mouth.

The next period was art. Edna was not good at drawing but she knew the basics.

"Okay class, so today we'll be drawing a three dimensional human and after drawing the one I'll be drawing on the board, you can draw your favorite character from anything!" Said the art teacher.

The teacher started to draw the image on the board. Almost all students drew the image correctly and showed it to the teacher but Edna couldn't draw it perfectly but it had a shape of a human. But the teacher said her to do some changes and Edna was really angry at the teacher because she was eager to draw her favorite character.

And then math again! Edna was sad again thinking about the incident from the first period. But she almost knew the answers as they were taught in the first math period.

"So... we have to do the ninth problem! Edna would you like to give it a try?" Asked the math teacher.

"No ma'am ugh... sorry, I am not good right now." Edna said it with pretending like she was coughing.

Then almost all the students in the class answered the questions their math ma'am asked and the period was over but then the whole day Edna acted like she was not well and because of that couldn't answer any questions.

"Hey girls how did your school go today?" Olivia asked the girls.

Everybody had a good feedback but Edna had a very good feedback.

"I like this school so much! As I was new student in my class, I had a special place were all the teachers asked the first question of the class to me alone! And I got a friend too, her name is Elizabeth!" Edna lied to them but they believed it!

"No! Stop telling lies!!" Lindsy shouted at Edna.

"Why would I ever tell li..."Edna shouted back at Lindsy.

"Mom, today when I was playing the ground, actually PT was our first period, I saw Edna day dreaming while her teacher was calling her and in the in the break period I stood by the door of her class while I saw that everybody were sniggering at her and she was crying..."Lindsy was telling the truth.

"No! When did I cry..."Edna said. "Mom she is lying!!"

"Shut up..." Lindsy said to Edna and continued. "and in the second math period Edna lied to her teacher that she was not well and passed her question to someone else" Lindsy leaked the truth.

"Wait...how did you know these first of all?" their mom asked Lindsy.

"The first period was PT for me and the break, it's for everybody at the same time and the fifth period was library period!" answered Lindsy.

"Oh..."their mom was shocked hearing this.

"You will have punishment for this Edna!" their mom told to Edna angrily.

And said her to clean their big garden because Edna had lied to her teachers and especially to her mom. It is a big mistake that Edna did. She had told a big lie because she thought that if she told the truth then her mother might scold her because she didn't pay attention to the class or she didn't study well.
