The courtyard pt.1

(It was beginning of April, now it's mid July, summer time)

For the past three months you complete memorized the castle in all it's glory, accidentally stumbling in secret rooms you know you weren't supposed to find, but as long as you keep your mouth shut nobody will know right?

Watching new maiden's come and go as the weeks went by, you never really attempted to make new friendships, knowing they'll be gone in a maximum of 5-6 days

You got up to start your day like usual and was handed in your daily tasks on another piece of paper like any other day but these ones were different

'Make breakfast for the countess and daughters' you liked this task, every time you got lucky enough to be put up with this endeavour it made you happy, knowing you'll see the countess which you've gotten fond of, yes she has her scary moments being strict but on rare occasions she showed a softer side with you, the only part you dreaded was her daughter's they.. weren't so fond of you, actually they hated your guts for some reason

You carried on with naming the tasks you've been given but these ones weren't quite the same as the normal ones you usually get like organizing books in the library and cleaning your lady's study these ones were gardening tasks

'Good morning Y/N, you've most definitely noticed that you've been assigned new tasks for today. After breakfast I'll supply you with a new attire for the occasion made specially for you by our private tailor, I'll fill you in with the details one you get the necessary equipment' signed by the countess herself

You were flattered at the thought that your lady would take the time herself to write down the note, usually she would get one of the maiden's to do so

"oh c'mon Y/N don't act this way, it's just a note. It's literally nothing special"

You put on the same set of clothing you had on for a while now and headed to make breakfast

You finished tidying up the table, washing the dishes afterwards

"Y/N?" Your lady walked into the kitchen in the hopes to find you

"Yes?" You turned and bowed to her "need anything my lady?" You looked at her

"Yes dear. I'll be expecting your presence in my private chamber after you're done cleaning everything up" she took a step towards you

You nodded "yes of course! I'll be right there" you turned back around to finish the dishes, trying to hurry up a bit, you hated making the countess wait

You still felt your lady's presence in the room for a couple more moments, it scared you a bit 'oh no, did I say something wrong?'

You looked back towards her but she was headed out, you caught a glimpse of her face before she bent down in the doorframe to leave, a smile?

You hummed a small chime to yourself in a small celebration that she wasn't mad, you finished the dishes shortly after the encounter and was already headed to her private chamber

You fixed up your apron and and pushed your shoulders back to have a better posture, knocking on the door

"Come in"

You creaked open the door and took a step in, you saw your lady sitting in her expensive looking chair, whine glass in hand as she looked at you back, taking a sip. your eyes scrolled over to the other side of the room, a woman?

"Y/N this is our castle's private tailor, I assume you read my note, she'll be taking your exact measurements for the attire needed for this job"
