"Hey, Newt!" Jacob called.
A voice rose from the basement "Uh, down here, Jacob!"
Jacob waved his hand to follow him downstairs. The four teens did so, stepping down into the basement and almost falling down the stairs, paralyzed. Jacob approached a suitcase that sat open on a desk.
A man stood in a cabinet and said "Queenie left a postcard. Tina's in Paris."
"Genius! Queenie's gonna straight for Tina!" he turned around, then back quickly "Oh, Newt! These are some kids who were stuck in the rain! Um-" he looked back toward them "-I realized I never asked your names!"
They looked at each other. Hermione pointed around the group "Harry, Ginny, Ron, and I'm Hermione."
Jacob nodded and turned back to Newt, who was preoccupying himself with getting creatures in the case.
"They told me they don't have a home. I said you could help them."
Newt looked around at them and awkwardly smiled "Alright."
Jacob went toward the stairs "I'm gonna go get my jacket!"
"I got it!" Newt said, pointing his wand upstairs, then busying himself again with things. Then, he waved his wand and sent notecards all over the basement. They were instructions; all written out for someone called 'Bunty'.
Newt turned to the teens "It would be easier, traveling wise, if you stayed down in the case."
They all looked at the case and shrugged. After they were all in the case, they heard it close, but they didn't feel jostled around as they thought. Ron and Hermione sat down in a corner and Harry and Ginny laughed to themselves, knowing full well Ron and Hermione were oblivious to the other's feelings.
Ginny looked at Harry "How are we going to get home if they're going to Paris?"
Harry looked directly at Ginny and sighed "I don't know. I guess trust the process. Maybe they'll find out our secret on their own and work with that."

They'd fallen asleep apparently because when they woke up, they were dazed and confused, and the case of open. They were slightly startled by a loud roar out the door. Ginny looked up the ladder and Harry attempted to stop her action, but it didn't work. Ginny scrambled up the ladder.
Harry rushed up after her. Ron and Hermione following. They were in a kind of lopsided living room. Ginny looked around, then turned to Harry.
"You sure we're in 1927 Paris? Because this looks like home."
Harry kicked her lightly in the foot. He apologized right after it, but Ginny needed to be more careful what she said. Especially since there was a woman from 1927 sitting there. Apparently, Jacob had just left the room, because out of the corner of his eye, Ron saw his coat turn the corner.
Hermione waved awkwardly to the woman in the room. She waved back.
"You four are deep sleepers." she simply said.
"Thank you?" Hermione questioned.
They heard scrambling up the ladder and they walked off to the stairs. Before they headed up them, they listened to a tiny bit of Newt and the woman's conversation.
"She's responded well to the dittany. She was born to run, you see, so...."
Something slammed shut and they heard the sound of her standing up "Mr. Scamander? Do you have anything in your case that might help revive this man? I've been observing him and the scars on his arms suggest a-"
"-an unbreakable vow." Newt said with her, then added "Yeah, I noticed that, too."
The four of them went upstairs before any more was said and Jacob walked past them. It looked like he too was listening to the two adults' conversation.
