"It's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all."
'Or is it,' she thought. She was laying on her bed doing seemingly nothing and missing the one person who could make her feel better. He was miles away so it didn't even matter. She was just another person to him anyway.
She tried so many times to forget him. His amazing smile. His bright blue eyes. The way he talked to her when they were alone. The way he protected her. The way he made everything seem like it was okay as long as she was in his arms. The way he jokingly made fun of her but when she would react he would apologize and say he didn't mean it at all. The way he told her the truth about anything, and so, so much more.
But now everything was different. It's not that he died or she did (even though both of them wanted to.) It's just that they were both so busy or neither of them wanted to talk to anyone. Everyone says they have nothing in common. That's the real lie.
They had a lot in common. Maybe not physically but it is there. It started with these two around November 2019. She liked him and they started talking like any two 'normal' teenagers.
They weren't normal, quite the opposite actually. She learned about the real world too early and he has seen too many bad things.
They kept talking and never really stopped. December rolls around and he had to choose between her and another girl. He chose the other girl.
She was devastated. She didn't know that the other girl even liked him. Not only did she lose a friend from that girl she lost her chance with him for awhile. She never quite got over him either.
I am her. I am the girl who wasnt chosen by him. He, well he is my best friend and this is our story.
