When Isaac came over he talked to my parents for a little while for about 5 minutes. Then he came up to my room. Amber and Gus we sleeping so I put my hand to my mouth and said shh. He motioned me outside. We sat on the grass and talked. We talked about Monica. She had called Issac earlier that day and said that that she was stupid for leaving him. She loved him, and if he would take her back.
Right when he was about to go on he got another call from Monica, he answered it. She said the same stuff that she said earlier. She was stupid, she never should have left him, if he would take her back and that she loved him. He didn't respond. I heard her scream always into the phone but again no answer. She kept saying always through the phone, until Issac stopped her and said Monica you can stop saying always. She responded with the classic question of why. He looked at me and said I'm with someone else right now, but thanks for the offer. She was outragged. WHO? She screamed into the phone. "Hazel Grace Lancaster". There was no response. She must of hung up the phone.
I opened my mouth in shock. Then Issac came over to me and kissed me on the lips. I kissed him back. He pulled away and sat down next to me. So, I said we're a thing now, huh? He looked at me put his hand to my forehead as to check my temperature and said you okay Hazelnut. Oh my gosh he has a nickname for me. Yeah, when did we start going out? Right after Augustus died. He put his hand around my shoulders. No I would never to that to Gus,I said. Oh sweetie,but you did. He leaned over and kissed me on the check and said I love you, hazelnut. I said I love you back.
Issac was shaking my shoulders ferociously. While he was saying Hazel, Hazel, are you there. Earth to Hazel. I looked up at him as he was staring down at me. You ok, he said. Yeah, I just dozed off sorry. It's fine I just got off the phone with Monica. She said that she loved me again. I told her to that there was still feelings for her deep, deep inside but we couldn't be together right now. Then she hung up on me angry. I asked him if there was someone else. He said no, I was just trying to get off the phone as quickly as I could. When he said no he hesitated. He must like someone, but who?
