Autumn P.O.V.

"Look at his little hands and feet, babe?" Dom said, looking over at me. Then immediately back to the monitor with the biggest smile plastered on his face. Big bad Dom withered away when he was in daddy mode. This version of him couldn't hurt a fly. Which I knew he was capable of. The excitement of this pregnancy was radiating off of him these past couple of months. He was all about catering to my wants and needs making sure my mind was right. He wanted this pregnancy to go smooth as possible and, like everybody else, wanted his healthy baby boy.

"Already saying pronouns?" Dr. Davis said, laughing as she was wrapping up my ultrasound. "You still have eight weeks till we know that, Mr. Thomas." She said, walking to the trash, throwing away the content she used to wipe my stomach clean from the jelly from the ultrasound.

"You have to speak it into existence, Doc." He said, turning back around facing her. " I'm in a house full of women. Which I have no problem with." He said, turning to me, winking. Causing Dr. Davis and me to laugh, followed by her saying he's a smart man because that comment could have landed him into some trouble. Seeing my emotions are everywhere due to me being pregnant. "We need another male in the house to balance it out." He said, looking at her serious as ever. I shook my head and laughed once again.

"What if it's a girl?" I blurted out, ready to hear what he had to say. All this boy talk had me thinking if it wasn't what he wanted, how would he act. He looked over at me and said.

"I'm going to have a second boyfriend to kill if they hurt my little girl," Dr. Davis busted out laughing, which caused him to bring his attention back towards her.

"I've heard that line before. Daddies are so overprotective of their girls." She said

He was offering me a sly smile, but I wasn't returning one to him. Dr. Davis might have heard this line before, but what she didn't know this daddy would make it happen. And that's what I was afraid of. What Allie and I had been through months back had me on edge. I wanted to know the child I was bringing into this world would be safe and have a guaranteed father.

I know Dom's time in the mafia gained him some enemies, and what if those enemies came back and made a visit? Dom wasn't immortal, and a bullet would prove that. The lifestyle he used to live could leave me heartbroken and alone with a house full of kids to raise.

Allie had already lost a parent, and to lose another one would break her down. So, Dom needed to learn to control his temper. He needed to see every battle wasn't worth fighting. I understand, Lucas, but Akeem could have been spared. Life isn't fair, and just because people hurt the ones you love doesn't mean you go on a killing rampage, taken lives like your god. That's what the laws for, what you might see as a justified reason to kill, isn't seen that way in the court of law: meaning jail time and me raising our family alone. So, when comments like this fell from his mouth, I didn't find them funny.

I rolled my eyes at him and turned my attention towards Dr. Davis. I knew doing this had Dom hot and bothered. Once out of Dr. Davis's presents, words would be exchanged between the two of us. Dom was a man who demanded respect. He wasn't for the games. If I ever had an issue, he let it be known. I needed to speak up because he wouldn't be doing all the attitude and back in forth, especially with his seed growing in me. He made that clear from the jump that he refused stress being the cause of an unhealthy baby.

"Well, I'm going to see you love birds next month. Make sure you're taking it easy, Autumn." She said, looking at me hard. Dr. Davis plays no games. When it comes to making sure her patients deliver healthy babies. You could tell she got into this career for all the right reasons." Your blood pressure is up. " Out of the corner of my eye, I could feel Dom's gaze on me heavy. "Whatever it is, your stressing about. " She said, stepping closer to me as she gently rubbed my back. " Let it go because high blood pressure could lead to Pre-eclampsia, and I already told you guys about that." I nodded my head, taking all in what needed to be taken in. "Now, Daddy." She said, bringing her attention towards Dom. "Make sure she is eating properly because she seems to have lost some weight. Which is how I know her blood pressure is not being caused by what she's eating." I avoided all eye contact with Dom because I know I was caught. This baby was making it hard for me to keep anything down. So, eating wasn't my favorite hobby at this moment. "Now, I have another patient waiting for me. So, with that being said. I'm going to see you guys next month. " She offered us one last smile before exiting the room.
