Samarth groaned as the glorious, florid orange bright rays of the sunlight entered his room. He opened his eyes but instantly closed them as the light irritated him. He again opened his eyes slowly and found someone clung to him. At first, he felt it's Pari and held more onto her. He turned to that person's side and saw her face. It wasn't Pari but, Jiya.

He was startled by seeing Jiya so close to him, almost practically on him. Her legs were on his and one of his legs were too on hers. He quickly freed his legs from on top of hers. He saw her one hand was on wrapped around his torso and other in his entangled hair. He grew anxious and jerked himself away from Jiya. He got down from the bed and stared at her.

"Miss Mathur--umm---nahi, iska 'I am your wife' shuru ho jaayega." Samarth mimicked Jiya's tone. He shook his head and chuckled but his mirth died down as he looked at Jiya sleeping calmly on his bed. There was a peaceful smile on her face, few strands of hair covering her face. He looked at her sleeping form and drunk in her beauty. He felt strange that the whole night he was hugging her tightly to himself. Her smooth skin pressed to his rough one. He was surprised as after almost 6 years, he finally was able to sleep well, sleep peacefully.

Suddenly, a question struck him. Did he have a nightmare again? What did she do when he had one? How did she comfort him? Did she even comfort him? What did she do while she slept beside him? There were so many questions in his head and only one person who could answer, who was sprawled in the bed with no care of the surroundings.

"Jiya!! Jiya!!!" Samarth called out, with an irritated look on his face. Jiya mumbled something and went back to sleep. "Oo sleeping beauty, get up. It's 7 in the morning!" Samarth growled. Jiya turned his back upon him and clutched a pillow tightly, her eyes closed. "Yeh--yeh aise nahi maanegi. Get up sleepyhead!" He practically yelled. Samarth walked to the other side of the huge, royal, comfy bed and stood facing Jiya. He shook Jiya a little. He shook her a bit more.

Jiya was irritated and turned back again on her one side, facing away from him, still clutching the pillow close to her body. "Waking her up is quite a task. Hats off to Maa and Papa!" Samarth was grateful to Jiya's parents as they asked him to address them as 'Maa' and 'Papa'. He felt that he can find his parents in them. He smiled at his thoughts but again got back to the big task he had in hand, 'waking up Mrs. Sleepyhead'.

"Jiya, get up." He patted her back slowly and called out softly, himself shocked by the sweetness in his voice. "Nahi na Dad-Lemme sleep na! Yesterday, I had a very tiring day in hospital." Jiya muttered loud enough for Samarth to hear who she was assuming as her father. "Kya? Dad? And, when the hell did you go to the hospital? No one can leave my house after midnight, you need a smart code for that. Then how---Ohh, you're joking? Oh My! I--Just get up Jiya. Get up!!"

Samarth pulled the warm duvet from her body and she hugged herself as cold air hit her body. Samarth again shook her and she covered her ears with the pillow clutching the bed sheet tightly. "What the hell's wrong with you?" Samarth roared, now very irritated. Samarth's eyes glowed with a hint of happiness as he got an idea. He bent down a little so he was on a level with her face. "Aeee!!! Bhukamp Bhukamp Bhukamp!!" He whispered loudly in her ears, simultaneously shaking Jiya, indicating the arrival of an earthquake.

"Dad, this trick has gone too old. Try something new." Jiya spoke sleepily, still assuming Samarth to be Rakesh. "I. Am. Not. Your. Father!" Samarth spat through gritted teeth but Jiya had already returned to sleep back then. He smiled as another idea struck his head. "Aeeeee!!! Aag aag aag!!" He shouted even louder this time. This too seemed to have no effect on Jiya. "Try. Something. New. Dad!!!!" She groaned and buried her head more into the pillow, she was sleeping on.

"Yeh aise nahi maanegi!" Samarth bit his lip as he thought of another plan. He bent down yet again and whispered. "Aaj biology ka test hai, prepare kiya?" Samarth's plan worked as Jiya woke up with a start. "Kya? Sunita Ma'am ne toh aisa kuch nahi bataya tha kal. Koi message aaya kya?" She mumbled and looked around while rubbing her eyes fast. As her gaze stopped at Samarth's smiling face, she understood, it was his voice. She is so silly, she cursed herself. She had already become a doctor now, no more Biology surprise tests.
