I was alone in a large suburban house

my parents had left for the week to Florida for a vacation to get away from the stress of work, bills, and myself. I did not mind since I personally wanted my vacation away from them as well. Tonight my neighborhood was pretty quiet not a person outside, not even a child playing on the street. But the neighbors next door were always the loud ones always yelling, always fighting they continue to be the loudest people in the neighborhood but no one really cared for a while. Who I really felt bad for is their daughter Amy.

She never comes out of the house or her room. I would know since her bedroom window is right next to mine, she's always wearing a white gown with a few stains on it and mostly her hair covering her face which is badly damaged and dried up. I barely figured out today that she was blind. I heard this from my friend Kylie who seen her parents praying at a local church. Kylie said she overheard them praying about Amy and to heal her vision and her health.

It's really bizarre seeing Amy's parents out and about in the world and Amy just sitting inside a house all alone. I always wanted to come over and see if she ever wanted to go out to watch a movie or go eat at least, but her parents won't allow it saying she is very ill.

I went back to studying and watching tv in my living room trying not to let Amy's parents fighting bother my concentration.

An hour later the neighbors went quiet, the fighting had stopped. It was so quiet I could hear myself think, this has been the longest since I heard nothing coming from the neighbor's house. I muted the tv and pure quietness hit the neighborhood, nothing but the sounds of the cars driving by and the chirping of the crickets in my backyard.

A few minutes passed and still nothing it was a miracle from God I thought to myself. Was I finally getting some quiet time to actually study and over read my notes to help me pass my Physics test? I think yes.  I said to myself.

Few hours past I was finishing reading over last minute notes that seemed important and reached over to the coffee table that was close to my sofa and picked up my "Arizona Green Tea"

Taking a sip of the sweet liquid I hear three loud bangs coming out from the neighbor's house. It was so loud that it stunned me for a quick second and made me lose my grip on my Arizona and made me spill it all over the floor of my living room.

The bangs sounded like a gun or more specific a shotgun, I was in pure terror that I started heading towards the light switches turning every possible light off making it seem harder for a robber to see me or whoever it might be. I lay low ducking every possible window in my house I peeked over one window to see if any other neighbor had come out and witnessed anything. No one did I was trembling really scared of what might have happened and what could happen next.

The Arizona drink now spilled all over the living room floor and the crickets now dying down it became silent and dead, like if somebody had muted the neighborhood. I ran up the house stairs and ran into my room, I locked the door behind me and picked up my phone that was charging on my bed. I dialed 911 and waited for a response

" 911, what's your emergency," said an older sounding man

" I need police officers here now, I just heard three loud bangs coming from the neighbors home. It sounded like a shotgun and I don't know if it's robbers or the neighbors" I said

"Where are you?"

"I'm in my room upstairs I have every light turned off"

"Ok whatever you do, do not leave your house stay inside and stay hidden. I will have three metro police cars over in the next hour."
