'I am so sick of the freaking pounding outside' I thought to myself as I poured a bowl of cereal. I have always lived in an abandoned street, of course there was a high school and college 20 minutes away. But now, they are completely redoing my street new houses are being built. Turns out 6 of them are already finished, while the 7th is being painted. "Mom!" I shouted, "When are the neighbors going to arrive?"

"All of them are supposed to be arriving tomorrow!" She called from upstairs. Gosh dangit. Sure I am excited to have new neighbors, but that doesn't mean I am going to be 100% happy over the fact that I no longer have this whole place to myself. No more blasting music in the streets at midnight. Or plugging in my electric guitar and playing Fall Out Boy songs.

"I am going outside!" I shouted.

"Be careful Rockelle!" My mom shouted back down.

"Rocky!" I corrected her. I ran outside with a skateboard in my hands, doing circles around the street, occasionally looking at the houses. I stopped skateboarding at the end of the street next to the 'Oakmitch Rd.' sign to pull out my 3ds. Three moving trucks pulled up an hour later. To avoid seeing anyone I walked inside.

I turned on my computer and searched 'Youtube' into the search bar. When I clicked on the link I watched videos for what seemed like hours, well it was hours.

------

"Rockelle!" I heard a voice shout. I opened my eyes.

"Is it tomorrow?" I asked slightly closing my eyes again.

"Yes. I am throwing a street party tonight, so wear something nice." She said throwing the blanket that was on me.

"But Mom!" I complained, "I don't want to be social." I sounded like a two year old, but right now I didn't care.

"Go get ready!" She shouted back. I threw my hands up in surrender.

"Okay, okay!" I started to walk upstairs and then into my room. I put on a black tank top, black skinny jeans, and a black beanie. 'Maybe if I am lucky I will blend in with the night and won't have to talk to anyone' I thought. I sat next to my computer and started blasting 'My Chemical Romance ' threw the speakers. My mom really doesn't like my music taste and my dad well he died three years ago, to cancer. All the sudden 'Cancer' played threw the speakers. I immediately changed the song knowing that it would make me upset about my father.

------

I went outside to see four more moving trucks. Each house had lights on inside. I bit my lip. 'This is not going to go well'

I walked back inside.

-----

"Rockelle!" My mom shouted, "Take these snacks outside. The party will start in one hour." It was 5:00 right now. I walked outside to see large speakers, tables of food, lights, and some sparklers. I dropped the snacks onto the table when I saw a girl my age come from one of the new houses, I started running inside.

-----

"Rockelle Maine Pine, are you going to wear that? Don't you want to make a good first impression?" She asked crossing her arms.

"What's wrong with it?!?" I said defending myself.

"Nothing, but can't you wear that dress that your grandma gave me to you last year?" I shook my head at her and then walked upstairs, I took some green temporary hair dye and sprayed a long strip in my hair. "Come on Rockelle! It's time to go outside its almost 6:00!"

"Rocky! Coming!" I shouted running down stairs, grabbing my skateboard, and then walking out the door.

"Mom! What is this!" I asked shocked when seeing a giant skate ramp.

"How should I know, probably belongs to one of the people who have moved in. I didn't even wait to hear her answer, I climbed up to the top of the skate ramp and leaned forward skating back and forth, doing as many tricks as I knew. Little did I notice that everyone was coming outside to the party. Doing a small flip, my beanie fell off, I didn't really mind.

I stepped off of my skateboard and back onto the concrete when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Oh man. Dude that was so epic-" I turned around to see a guy around 19 years old. "Oh you're a girl, I thought you were a guy. With long hair. Um anyway here is your beanie." He handed me my beanie and then held out his hand. "James."

"Rockelle, call me Rocky." I shook his hand. "This yours!" I pointed to the skate ramp.

"Yeah..." He said scratching his neck.

"Oh I'm sorry, it's just I have never been on a ramp before." I drifted off.

"No, no it's cool, anytime." He apologized.

"Hey! You two come over here, let's all introduce ourselves!" My Mom called from the other side of the street. We ran up to the circle in which everyone was standing in. There was a set of parents for each teen there. There was 4 girls including me and 4 guys. "Go around the circle, say your name, age, and an interest." My Mom said and pointed to a girl to start.

"Riley, 16, and skiing" she said quietly. Next was a guy.

"Issac, 18, drums." He said.

"Haley, 17, and shopping." A girl said.

"Dan, 19, basketball." Said a guy.

"James, 19, skateboarding." James said and turned to me.

"C.J., 17, T.V." A guy in all red clothes said.

"Isabella, 18, dancing." I girl said and then looked at her feet.

"Rocky, 17, music and gaming." I said confidently. "Welcome to Oakmitch Rd."
