HONOURABLE MENTION: starrdust
EXPLANATION: So I know that this is a bit off from the prompt, but I made the cover this way because "no one loved her after all" to care enough about her suffering from depression(the voices in her head telling her that she's not good enough). The girl in the cover ends up committing suicide because she can't bear living as a "useless" person anymore, thus why the title is "The Girl They Forgot".
WWW: Your explanation is the most original out of all the entries I received. I don't know what made you assume that your entry is off-topic when, really, it's actually extremely unique. Most designers chose to do something metaphorical, something fantasy-related or scary, whereas you decided to go with a completely different genre/mood.
EBI: However, your cover would look twice as good if you used a different serif font or even better, a script font, for the title. The placement of the subtitle could use some work, too. Maybe decrease the size and place it under/above the title.
3RD PLACE: AlexVonnG
EXPLANATION: Jane Donovan begins to feel a strange presence as she moves into her father's old cabin in the woods. Her curiosity will lead her to discover strange secrets that her family has hidden for hundreds of years.
