Something About You Is Different

Hope knocked on Landon's door. She knew it would hurt, breaking up with the boy she has loved for so long, but it had to be done. She can't help but feel different for him now. He doesn't give her the same spark that he used to. And Landon doesn't deserve to
be led on like that.

Hope knocked on the door again when nobody answered, and this time, Landon opened it.

"Oh, hey babe." Landon said with a smile. The goofy lopsided endearing smile that Hope once adored.

"Hey." Hope said, "Landon, we need to talk."

"What's wrong?" Landon asked, his face falling.

"I... can I come in?" Hope asked.

"Yes, of course." Landon replied. He allowed her to enter the room. They sat on Landon's bed. "What's the matter?"

"I... I don't think this is working anymore." Hope said under her breath.

"You don't think what's working anymore?" Landon asked.

"This... us." Hope replied. "I don't feel the same spark I used to feel towards you."

"What?" Landon asked, "What brought these feelings on?"

"It's..." Hope paused, "It's not that anything brought these feelings on. It's more like I realized I've been losing feelings towards you."

"Hope, wait, slow down." Landon said. "We can get through this. We can get through anything!"

"Landon, please." Hope said, "Don't make this harder than it has to be."

"Is there someone else?" Landon asked, his lips turning into a pout.

"No, of course not." Hope replied.

"Did you ever really love me?" Landon asked her again.

"Of course I did!" Hope replied. "I'm sorry Landon."

"Wait. Please don't break up with me. I love you." Landon begged.

"It wouldn't be fair to you." Hope told him. "I loved you, and I always will love you. Just... not in the same way that I used to love you."

"Hope, wait." Landon said, "Did I do something? I can change, I swear. Please. I love you with every fiber of my being."

"It's not you." Hope said. "It's that my feelings for you are different now." She told him. She got up from his bed and walked to the door.

"Hope. Please" Landon said, "I love you."

Hope turned around and smiled a little bit. "I loved you." She said, "And remember, I always will."
