If you ask anyone, I've got the perfect life. I guess I'm one of those popular girls, who has lots of wannabes, but lots of haters. I'm dating the captain of the football team, Ken. Everyone thinks I'll be his plastic little Barbie Doll, and take Asia's place as the leader of the cheerleading squad.
But I don't want that. Behind his looks, Ken is sort of... plain. Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I wasn't popular and Ken wasn't my boyfriend. I guess it would be fun, like a new adventure, but after a while, I'd probably get bored. Sad. Tired. Lonely. And in dating Ken, I can prevent those feelings.
"Hey Lina!" I turn around to see who it is. Joshua. I don't know why but every time I see him I feel strange. It couldn't be because I was in love with him or anything, I mean, hello, I have a boyfriend. And plus, Ken is much more athletic, handsome, and above all, popular.
As the bell rings, I walk away-- and Joshua winks...
