 Somber's POV

_ _ _

There were quite a few things that I liked to do when I got up. Eat a good breakfast, maybe sit around and watch an episode of a show I recently got into. Those were the normal things.

But one thing I didn't expect to wake up to was a fox licking my face.

Out of instinct I jerked away, and very quickly realized that this was, in fact, not my bedroom.

"Shoo! Shoo!" I yelled to the small white fox, who hissed at me before sneaking away quickly.

Looking around, I took time to note my surroundings. I was in some sort of dark oak forest, with snow covering the ground like a soft blanket and trees that covered my head like a roof.

"Where the hell?-" It was at that moment when the cold winter air hit me, making me tremble as my clothes (Aka a sweatshirt and sweatpants plus a pair of bunny slippers) were not fit for such temperatures.

But before I began to panic, I reminded myself that I needed to remain calm; I wouldn't get anywhere if I sat here having a panic attack.

Carefully, I pulled myself off the ground and began walking in the direction that the sun seemed to be shining, which I hoped would lead me to a town or something.

While I walked, I subconsciously let my mind wander, thinking of all and everything to keep my mind off the fact that I'm probably suffering from severe frostbite.

After a good fifteen minutes of walking, I could feel a stinging feeling in my fingers, which made me wince but I continued on.

When the stinging feeling made its way to my feet and up my forearms, I began losing hope.

Then suddenly, in the distance I saw something that never made me more hopeful. A tiny cluster of houses; People!

Energy rushed through my veins, and I began running through the thick snow and trees, hope increasing with every step.

That is, until I felt something very heavy hit the back of my head, and with a pathetic gasp I fell into the snow as my vision turned black.

The next time I woke up, the first thing I felt was warmth surrounding me, which made me think that everything that had happened previously was simply a dream.

So of course, I opened my eyes expecting to be greeted with the familiar sight of my cream colored ceiling, but instead I saw a ceiling made of wood.

I tried to sit up, but my head suddenly began pounding like it was a knock on a door, and an intense pain came from the back of my skull as I suddenly remembered what happened before I blacked out. Instantly I lied back down, which eased the pain a bit.

"Oh my, you're awake!" A young woman with black hair said as she opened the door, carrying a small box filled with green gems, "I was afraid you were never going to wake up. Well, to be fair, the Golem did getcha pretty good."

"Where?-" I started to say, but was cut off by my body deciding to have a coughing fit.

"You're in the Northeast Snow Village," she placed her hand on my forehead, "Oh dear, It seems like you have a fever too. I'll be right back with some that'll fix you right up!" And she grabbed two green gems from her box and walked right back out the door.

While she was gone, I slowly was able to get up and walk around for a minute, but I quickly got back into bed when I began to have another coughing fit. I also noticed that my hands and feet were wrapped in bandages, which was probably to help with the frostbite.
