Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock ‘BURM!’ the bell blared, indicating the end of another painstakingly long school year. Justin snatched up his books from next to me getting up from his seat and walking off as I copy his actions, being quick to exit out into the hall. He turns around smiling at me before he asks,
“Hey Andii, you wanna come to The Hideout with Leoni, Chaz and I?” I replied with a nod before we both headed off to find our lockers. “Meet us at seven, at the playground and we’ll walk from there, yea?”
“Okay, see you then.” I grinned at him as I started walking down the street
I am currently walking home watching the kids from my school walk by with their little posse‘s. As I was coming onto my street and out of view of any passers-by; as we lived on a street that was filled with newly redeveloped land and unfinished houses, I stopped for a second and looked around thinking that I’d heard someone or something’s feet shuffling along behind me, only to my surprise a scrawny black tom cat JUMPED out of the rose bush making me shriek in surprise! The damn thing started hissing and screeching at me, a sound quite horrid and eerie to the ear.
I have always had a low tolerance toward that stupid cat. Ever since the creepy guy across the road moved in, the cat had been waiting at my nerves end to jump out; although I knew it was waiting every day, it still scared me.
The guy across the road; who seems to look about 18 years old, moved in a few weeks ago; although the cat didn’t seem to live with him it appeared in the same week that the guy did.
The young man across the road would always stare intently at her house, as if it were about to disappear or something bad were to happen to it. He would just stare at it all day, every single day. I couldn’t decide whether he was watching over our house in a way or whether he was just being a pervert and since my room is to the top left of our house, it wasn’t hard to perv through the thin curtains shielding my window.
As I finally reached my front door stalking towards the stairs in front of me , I slung my school bag off of my shoulders and onto the floor next to the staircase before running briskly upstairs to my room. Mum would pick up my bag later when she comes home from work.
I shuffled over to my dresser sitting down on my stool placed strategically in front of my mirror getting out my make-up bag and setting out the contents ready to use on top of my dresser.
I don’t wear much make-up to school as it’s not aloud and besides, I have pretty clear skin anyway. I looked intently into the mirror at myself, my long dark blonde hair that cascaded down to just atop of my breasts, my blue eye’s that changed colour according to the weather and then to my thin and slightly plump naturally pink lips. I’m a confident person but I don’t like to brag about my apparent good looks, I am quite self conscious to be honest.
I started by lightly dabbing on and rubbing in my foundation followed by eye liner on my top lid, some mascara and finishing with my lip gloss. Chapping my lips together, I was all set, it’s 6:45 now and just enough time to walk to the local park to meet my friends. I looked at myself once more before throwing on a casual outfit of jeans and a t-shirt with my favourite yellow zip up sweater with a little tweetie bird on my left breast and cursed myself that I had forgotten to close my curtain before I’d gotten changed, that creep could have copped an eyeful. I really had to be more cautious. I closed the curtains and quickly made haste for my bedroom door when it slung towards me making me scream and jump backwards tripping over my stool.
