Chapter two

"Everyone, remain in your seat until the red button disappears. Also, please make sure your phones and other devices are turned off. Now, sit back and relax, and thank you for choosing Delta Air."

The plane began to move. It was quite slow at first, but it gained speed as it went down the runway. Before George knew it, he was thirty-six thousand feet in the air. As much as he tried not to, his eyes were able to catch a glimpse of the view outside the window. he gulped, and sat further back in his chair. If there was one thing he hated more than how his legs felt after a long riding lesson, it was heights. George was terrified of heights, and to make matters worse, he's flying alone. This flight was going to be long, and with nothing else to do except have a panic attack, the brit turned his phone on and began to scroll aimlessly through multiple apps for a bit. Turns out that wasn't enough, because the only thing he could think about was every single bad outcome that could happen during this flight. In a now desperate state to make those dumb ideas go away, George turned his volume up all the way and put on another random playlist he had pinned on Spotify. Eventually, his eyes began to flutter shut, and soon enough he was lulled into an unconscious state.

"All passengers remain in your seats, we will
Now be landing,"

The plane was tilting forward, altitude number decreasing drastically. This was enough to awaken the brunet. His stomach churned at the feeling, and he was pretty sure that he felt bile beginning to rise up into his throat. George subconsciously gripped onto the armrest, which would have been really embarrassing to see if anyone else was sitting down in his row. The airplane now began to tilt back as it got close toward the runway. The cabin began to bounce a bit, making the brit even more sick to his stomach. This was temporary, though. Under him, he could hear a loud noise right as the bouncing stopped, which only meant one thing.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to Florida."

The plane had landed, slowly but surely coming to a stop at its designated spot. As soon as the seatbelt icon turned off, the other passengers wasted no time in stanch up, almost immediately filling the aisles in order to grab their stuff from the cabinets above. It took a minute or two before everyone began to exit the plane, which finally meant he could stand up. His legs felt wobbly, and his vision was blurry, but he still managed to step off the plane and into the boarding bridge. He was now walking on America's land, for the first time ever. He couldn't tell if the thought made him excited or anxious, but it did make him want to get out of the sickening building as soon as possible.

And that he did.

The second he stepped outside, the rush of the Florida air hitting him. He could smell everything from the disgusting tobacco that the old man leaning against the window was smoking, to the salt from the sea just a couple minutes away. It was new, and honestly pretty exhilarating. It was then that he realized he had no way to get to where he was going, but fortunately the many cabs that were lined up at the curb were all vacant, so he decided to use one of them instead of calling an uber. The taxi driver greeted him as George placed his suitcase in empty legroom, to which he offered a shy smile back. The brit sat down and closed the door, buckling his seatbelt swiftly with a tiny grin still stuck on his face.

George got out of the car, shuffling to get his suitcase. Once all of his belongings were out, he thanked the taxi driver, and turned on his heel to face his brand new house. Considering the fact he is a professional hunter jumper, and makes a pretty decent amount of money, his house was bound to be nice. Florida wasn't ideally the state he wanted to live in, since it was nothing like England, but either way it had opened a new chapter in the brits life, which was something George really needed. Grabbing a little key out of his pocket, he slipped it into the lock, and opened the door. Many boxes had been placed in separate rooms, which had been shipped from his old apartment. He wasn't really worried about that, as he would just unpack later. He put his suitcase next to the door, and quickly ventured around the house. He didn't stick around for too long, just making sure everything was fine before he was out the door again. He had to check up on one more thing, which was way more important than his house. his horse had also been shipped to Florida, and he wanted to make sure she was okay. Not to mention, it would also give the brunet a chance to see the new barn he'd be riding at. It was supposedly really nice, even though it had both english and western riders there. He wasn't a huge fan of western riders, but he did have major respect for them and what they did. To him, however, he felt like the riding style was a tad bit too 'wild' for his taste. Nonetheless, he was still hyped to see the place.

After waiting almost twenty minutes for an uber, George was finally able to leave his house and head over to the barn he had been longing to see in person. Surprisingly, the driver was super chatty, so the whole car ride was filled with a bunch of small talk. This was actually really helpful because his driver had pretty much filled him in on everything he needed to know about living in this part of Florida. The stables were pretty close to his house, so it wasn't long until the brit was stood Infront of probably one of the most gorgeous barns he's ever seen.

Also, if you didn't know, here is some vocabulary you will need to know!

Hunter jumping:  A jumping discipline scored by a judge's subjective score on the horse's form and manners going around a course of jumps. It's basically more about how you preform rather than how quick you go!

Show jumping: Unlike hunter jumping, Show jumping is judged on how quick you can complete the course, so form doesn't really matter all that much.

Barrel racer: Barrel racing is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider attempt to run a cloverleaf pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time.

Gelding: A gelding is a castrated male horse.

Mare: A female horse or other equine animal especially when fully mature or of breeding age.

Stallion: A male horse kept for breeding

That's just some basics! If you have any question just ask!
