If there was one thing Henrik did like about his new 'home' it was definitely his bed. Even though he hated not moving. Lying in bed was the exception especially since comfort was non-existent with their old beds. But still, the room felt unnaturally large, he wondered if he would ever get used to having his own sleeping quarters and not sharing with his siblings. Footsteps. Stupid footsteps just had to wake him up. All he had to do was keep his eyes close and he will soon fall back to sleep.
"Little one," Elijah said gently. Nope, he wasn't going to get more sleep anytime soon.
"Go away," Henrik mumbled. Elijah chuckled before simply pulling back the duvet and picking up his little brother.
"Hey!"
"You've slept long enough little one," Elijah told the boy.
"I disagree."
"Unfortunately for you, Henrik you have no say in the matter." Elijah then carried Henrik out of his bedroom over to the study.
Education one word that Henrik decided should have never existed. What was so important about education anyway? Their parents are wealthy. Have his siblings forgotten that?
"Lijah there's no point. I'm never going to get this." Henrik complained. While sitting down on Elijah's lap with a children's book open in his brother's right arm.
"You won't unless you try."
"It's too hard brother. And why do I need to learn to read in another language? I can read fine in our language." Henrik complained.
"Understanding other languages is good for the mind," Elijah said.
"Not my mind," Henrik replied.
"We've all had to learn another language and have managed. So will you."
"It's not like I'm going outside any time soon anyway," Henrik mumbled.
"It's not nice to mumble little one." Elijah scolded rather softly.
"I haven't been outside for ages whenever I bring it up. You all dismiss it, brother."
"Henrik the world is no longer what you remember a lot of things have changed."
"Brother you should know by now. I never accept anything unless I see it for myself." Henrik told his brother.
"I know that all too well little one its been your greatest flaw," Elijah responded as he put the book down on the coffee table. "We'll pick up where we left off later."
"May, I watch the enchanted box that makes paintings move and talk?" Henrik asked. The Original chuckled.
"Until lunch," Elijah answered, Henrik, smiled and went to move off Elijah's lap. The Original's grip tightened.
"Brother. The enchanted box is in the other room in order to watch it. I have to leave this room." The mortal Mikaelson pointed out.
"In time I will release you. Can't a man want to spend some time with his baby brother?"
"Of, course, if his brother was three. I haven't been your baby brother in many years." Henrik said.
"You have and will always be my baby brother," Elijah responded.
Author's Note: I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated this fanfic. I just had really bad writers' block when it came to this story.
