Eye See You

A new beginning

        Time in this new place seemed to go by way faster than it did in my other life in which I missed deeply. It felt as if only minutes had passed before I was caple of using my new body parts. It all started with the wiggling of my legs that quickly turned into me rising to my feet and walking. In what felt like five minutes, I was already growing taller inch by inch and having a change in the tone of my voice. I was so amazed at how quickly the time went by, well maybe I was just so used to not doing anything at all in complete darkness for thousands of years. I tried my best to try and make sense of this new world and explore it a bit. I walked day after day without rest in search of another confused soul. Lots of time passes and I still have not found anyone to communicate with. One day, I was finally able to end my search! One day as I was walking, I bumped into something. I didn't think much of it until I heard a sound come from whatever I bumped into. The sound that this thing produced sounded like me, but not quite the same. I decided to speak, "H- hello?" I said while trying to hide the fact that I was in fear. As soon as I spoke, the thing that I bumped into started to let out a fear-filled and run away from me. I tried to chase it, but that's kind of hard to do in a world of darkness. The funny thing was that as soon as I gave up on trying to catch the thing that ran, the world suddenly became visible.
         The world was beautiful. The surface was brown with patches of green and tall brown and green things growing out of it. I could not believe my eyes, what I was seeing was not real. There were also other people like me, the only difference is that they floated and were kind of transparent. At the time I figured that maybe they were not fully evolved and were halfway stuck in their orb form. I now realize that that was not the case at all. I tried communicating with these floating people, but all I got back were empty stares. These floating people were everywhere, I started to get a little scared as I tried talking to countless numbers of these people and none of them responded.
        Out of nowhere, I heard a loud scream from the distance, I did not know what danger really was back then so my best idea was to run toward the screams. As I got closer to the screams, a silhouette of someone became more and more visible. When I finally have gotten close enough that to see the physical appearance of this person, I realized that they were like me. We both had the same amount of limbs and in the same places. The only difference is that our body parts were shaped differently. This person appeared to be significantly smaller than me. I tilted my head down to ask him why he was screaming. He began to explain to me that he was screaming because he was not used to this light let alone this new world.
