You started to feel cold later that night, and in your attempt to retrieve some of the blankets, you realize H/N wasn't there. You try to find him in the dark, and see his silhouette sitting at the lounge chair next to the large window. He noticed you twisting and turning but didn't speak. He must have thought you were still mostly asleep.
"H/N?" You start to get out of bed, to sit in the chair with him.
When you reached his lap, he happily wrapped you in his arms, "I hope I didn't wake you," he kisses your forehead.
"What are you doing up?" You ask sleepily.
He moves the curtain just enough for you to see the news vans camped outside his gate, "I've been waiting to see how long it'll take them to leave. They've been there since we laid down."
"Why didn't you tell me? Why are they out there?"
He lets the curtain fall back into place, so he could return to holding you, "I didn't want you to worry. It's always like this before a scheduled public appearance. Only this time they're more interested in you, than me."
You pull your head away from his chest to look at him, "How come?"
"This is just about the time that the pressure starts to get to most people. They want to be there to make sure they catch any slip ups," he states softly.
You weren't feeling any pressure until he said that, "Nothing like having all eyes on me," you say nervously.
"Hey," he adjusts in the seat so he can cradle you once more. "You are going to be fine tomorrow. I promise you. I'll protect you from them, they won't be able to get to you."
You bring his palm to your lips before weaving your fingers in his, "My hero."
"Damn right," he agrees. "Go on back to bed, I'll be there in a minute."
You walk back to bed, not releasing his hand until it finally broke away from yours. While you tried to sleep, you weren't actually able to until you felt him slide alongside you and drape his arm through yours and over your stomach. Everything would be fine tomorrow, right? His alarm clock wasted no time, and finally rings in the morning. You were bright eyed and bushy tailed. The two of you shared a pleasant shower together, and while he made breakfast, you worked on getting yourself prettied up for the day ahead.
When he brought a bagel up for you, you had finished the touches on your makeup, "I didn't even think about something to wear," you say concerned.
He chuckles as he walks into the hallway once more, and brought you a clothes box, "I had a feeling you would say that. So, I took the liberty of having this delivered."
"When did you do this?" You ask as you open the box to take out a beautiful black pencil skirt and light blue dress top.
"Last night, when you fell asleep," he smiles. "Do you like it?"
"They're gorgeous, did you even sleep last night? I can't believe you did this," the shirt was so silky, and light weight.
"I slept enough. Well, go put it on, we gotta get going," he claps to get you out of your chair and into the bathroom.
While it wasn't what you'd usually picked out for yourself, you had to admit you loved the fit. You never really took pride in the way your body was shaped, but this outfit gave you confidence you didn't know you had. When your hair was finished getting curled, you told him you were ready to go. Once again, a limo was waiting in the driveway for you.
