(A/N: I've been wanting to write this story forever omg! I have so many ideas and I'm genuinely so excited for it. I'm gonna try to make each chapter 500+ words. Also every chapter I'm gonna have a song of the day that I've been listening to lately! So to start: today's song of the day is Pretty Pink by Cimorelli! The message is so beautiful and pure and I just love it! Go stream!
My fave lyric is "you're beautiful in more ways than you think, even when your lips aren't a pretty pink."

LMK WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS CHAPTER! ANY AND ALL OPINIONS ARE WELCOME!

Dorothy's POV

The daily grind. Wake up, get ready, go to school, come home, get un-ready (so to speak), go to bed, repeat. That's been my life for at least the last few years. I'm currently a sophomore in high school, set to graduate in the year 2023. My family consisted of six (6) people, including me. There was me, my mom Nancy, my stepdad Mark, my older brother David and my younger brother Donnie (but his real name was Donatello, which he hated being called.

My brother, David, was currently driving Donnie and I to school. It was mid- October so naturally it was pretty cool outside, which was why I was in a hoodie. It was actually David's originally, but he had given it to me. It had a bunch of dog breeds on it with a picture of each dog and the breed name attached underneath it. My hair was half up, half down, and I had red converse and black leggings. The pop of red from the converse against the black of the rest of the outfit looked really cool in my opinion.

Dawson's POV

The low and steady rumbling of my family's minivan soothed me as we drove on the main highway towards our new home. My brother, Landon, sat next to me with our dog, Ozzie, in between us on the middle seat. I was toward the left window (drivers side), with Landon on the right side toward the right window (passengers side). My dad, Jeremy, was driving and my mom, Shauna, sat next to him in the passengers seat, reading. She almost never gets car sick, even when she reads in the car. It was a long drive from our home town of Alton, Missouri to Long Island, New York, specifically a really small and quaint town called Treefold,New York. I would now be attending a school called Treefold Central High School as a sophomore and Landon would be attending the middle school called Treefold Junior High.

"You boys feeling good? Excited, nervous? Talk to me." My dad spoke up from his seat, peeking at Landon and I in the rear view mirror.  "Good." We both answered simultaneously.

Once we got to the house, my dad, my brother and I began to unpack while my mom made some phone calls to our new schools to make sure we could begin that following Monday (today was Friday).

I walked up the steep, somewhat slippery stairs and made a left, seeing the door to my empty new room left open.

It was a nice, open space with no furniture. We didn't come with much furniture, since we figured we'd buy most of it here. However the furniture we did bring was in the movers vans, and they'd take at least another day to get there. So, in the mean time, I began to decorate what I could in my room, my putting posters up on my door and on my walls. Landon was doing the same across the hall in his room. We had a three room house now, which was a big improvement from the 2 bedroom apartment we had lived in all my life up until now, when I was 16, going on 17.

Eventually, I got bored of cleaning and decorating my room. So, I went to landons room and asked if he wanted to go explore the town with me, to which he quickly and enthusiastically agreed.

We told mom and dad where we were going and took our bikes, since neither of us drove yet and it'd take too long to walk. We rode down our street toward the center of town, Main Street.

"I'm hungry." Landon stated, so we soon stopped at a McDonald's to get some food. "I'll have a burger meal, medium, with cheese and ketchup, with ranch on the side and a coke." Landon ordered. "And I'll have a Big Mac meal, medium with Buffalo sauce on the side and a Dr. Pepper please." I ordered next. I paid for our food while Landon thanked the cashier and went to go find us a seat. I waited on the side for our food and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted three teenage boys who looked to be about my age...
