Poor Pale king, they managed to break a piece of his 'head'. As the Group apologized many times, especially Gaston, it was all back to normal, sipping hot chocolate after Ghost gave his full 'permission'.
So, why did Pale King pass by?
Mostly because he needs to pick up Hornet and take her back to Herrah.
And because he wanted to see the kids.
This would obviously be a Christmas that everybody could never forget.
Epilogue:
Ghost: C'mon, Gaston, please try to remember!
It was no use. Gaston had been completely infected, making him lose control of his actions, only to be a mere puppet to The Radiance.
Ghost didn't want to also kill his older brother, the one he used to look up to when he was younger.
But he had to, at least to free Gaston. Just like he did with Carlos.
Hornet told him to not cry, he would see them again.
But what Ghost didn't know is that Hornet was crying too.
Ghost: I'm really sorry, Gaston...
As Ghost did his final blow to Gaston, even knowing that it would kill Gaston, Ghost did not hesitate. He reminded himself that he had to be strong, no matter what.

Ghost: To be sealed with the infection?
Gaston: Well, kinda. But if it's to save everybody...
