Rekindled Hearts

A Decade Later

It has been 10 years since Daniel and Johnny seen each other. They broke up on bad terms as they both inspired different dreams. Daniel wanted to become a lawyer as he was working hard to get into law school. Johnny on the other hand wanted to take a break from school and explore the world before settling into a career that would determine how he would live for the rest of his life.

He got a small modeling job that would pay for all of his expenses and trips. All he had to do was pose for the pictures. Daniel thought the job seems a little sketchy and tried talking johnny out of it, but it was no use. They argued over the smallest things and living together made things worse than better. Daniel was the type to keep his room nice and tidy while johnny is on the messier side and leave things everywhere. They finally broke up when johnny got a trip to Alaska and he was gonna be there for a while. No telling when he'll be back as daniel wants a boyfriend who is present not thousands of miles away. Johnny packed what he needed and never came back for the rest of his things. Both were hurt from the break up.

Now, Daniel is a well-known freelance lawyer. Although he is now rich and his fame can take him to places, he was divorced. He thought things would workout with Amanda but he doesn't love her in a romantic way as he thought he did. He loved her more like a best friend. He gets to have his 5 year-old daughter, Sam and 3 year-old, Anthony on Fridays and the weekends. Amanda is doing great as she owns a bakery business with her co-partner, Ali who is also Daniel's ex. They started to have a thing for each other as Daniel notices and feels happy for them.

He tried giving online dating and dating in person a chance but he hasn't found the right one. One day, he just gave up on love and focused on his job and kids. Today, he tried to fix the clog in the kitchen sink but it only lead him getting wet from the water spraying everything until he turned the knob to turn it off. He was very stubborn and tried everything until he finally gave in asking one of his friends if they knew a handyman. They gave him the number as the owner would send someone to his house to come fix it. He thanked them then called the number.

Johnny is a handyman as the modeling career didn't last long. It was a scam as johnny was lucky enough to leave before the real action took place and the FBI was involved. This job was something he was really good at as the pay was good enough. He had a one night stand with a woman, Shannon, and now he has a 5 year-old son named Robby. He loves the kid as he tries to make time to come see him or make plans for them to have fun whenever robby comes over. Shannon can admit that he's a good father to robby but she has her addictions and absent at times and johnny drinks. When he found robby alone at their home, he was determined to get robby to live with him and considered getting sole custody but he doesn't have a lot of money to afford a lawyer. Today, he just finished fixing someone's bathroom showerhead as he got a call from his boss to head over to a new customer and got the address.

He head over to the house as it was a big house with a cool gate that slides open for cars. He rang the doorbell as Sam answered the door.

"Are you the fix it man?"

"Yes, I am" He responded as Sam yelled out to her dad, "Daddy the fix it man is here!"

Daniel yelled out to her to let him in as he was drying his hair. She let him in and shows him the problem with the kitchen sink. He sets his tools down thanking her before she told him no problem and went to the living room. Johnny went straight to work on the sink as he can see that the man tried to fix it himself before calling for help. He sighs as Daniel comes in the kitchen only seeing the man's back turned to him and thanks him for the help. Johnny only nodded as he wasn't trying to get distracted. Daniel let him be, going to the living room and check on the kids.

In an hour, johnny fixed the sink as Sam came in the kitchen to get some apple juice. She sees the sink works and smiled, "You fixed it." Johnny told her how it wasn't easy but he did it and she offered him some apple juice. He thanks her before she takes her cup and go calling for her dad. She sat on the floor with Anthony as he got up to check out the sink. Johnny kneeled down picking up his tools and put them in the tool box and Daniel came in the kitchen. Once they face each other, all that was heard was the tool box dropped to the floor.

They were speechless until Daniel took his first words, "Johnny....hi"

"Hi"

Daniel told him how it's been so long as johnny can agree. They talk in the kitchen a little to catch up as they can see how their lives isn't perfect as it seems.

"It's nice to see you again Johnny"

"Oh. Is it?" Johnny questioned as they both laughed. He admitted how the modeling job was a scam as daniel told him how he told him so.

"Oh shut it Larusso!" He exclaimed before they laugh again and Sam came in asking for more juice. Daniel gave her more juice before she thanks him going back to watch TV. Johnny told him how he has a son who around the age as Sam.

"No kidding"

"Yeah. The kid is so smart for his age. He even wants to join the junior soccer team" Johnny says before going on about Robby. Daniel smiled as he can see how johnny changed a lot as he likes hearing him go on about his son and how proud he is of him.

"Well if you like, maybe robby can come over to come play with the kids" Daniel said as Johnny told him how he'll see what he can do since he has robby on the days that Shannon chooses.

It was going to be the afternoon, Johnny got his things and Daniel paid him for his services. He told him how he'll give him a call if anything else needs to be fixed. Johnny chuckled and nodded.
