"I'll Be There For You"

The day of judgement was upon them. The names of the Champions would be declared in a few minutes , sealing their destinies and there would be no looking back from there . Y/N was feeling dizzy. She sat on the familiar yellow and black stripped couch , silently looking at the fire. But, on the contrary,the whole common room was wheezing with excitement and energy. The warm circular room was filled with the chants of "Good Luck Cedric" "Good Luck Cedric" when he finally made his way down the stairs. Y/N didn't move. She sat lost in thought oblivious to all this, until she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Hey! you okay?" Cedric asked a little worried. "Yeah! Yeah, I am fine" answered Y/N with a small smile."It's time. We should get going." Cedric stretched both his arms and helped Y/N to her feet. They walked out of the common room with their fingers intertwined."It'll be alright" . Cedric gave Y/N's hand a squeeze and she nodded.

The other four and Penny waited for them in the Entrance Hall, as excited and nervous students made their way into the Great Hall. "They are here" said Penny to the others. All of them looked at Cedric and Y/N with big grins on their faces. "You ready ,mate?" asked Marc patting Cedric's back. He nodded vigourously. "Erm....Good- good luck,Cedric" a shy voice came from behind them . The accompanied gigglings told them who that voice belonged to. "Um....Thanks ,Cho" said Cedric turning around and giving her a nod. She blushed and ran into the Hall with her giggling frineds. "Those girls behind her, never stop giggling. Do they? It's like a band . She is the lead singer and all of them provide her with the required sounds for the performance" said Y/N making the others laugh. "Is that Cedric Diggory blushing?" Val put her head under Cedric's face as he looked down in embarrassment. "Now that Cho Chang has wished you luck, everything is going to be spectacular" joked Marc with mock seriousness. It made everyone laugh. Y/N felt a hand close around her wrist and pull her. "I see you have got your Ginger locks back" chuckled Y/N as she came face to face with George. "I still looked gorgeous as ever with my grey beard. Admit it Y/L/N" winked George as he proceeded to pull her in closer with an arm around her waist and place peppered kisses on Y/N's face. "Oh! In your dreams,Weasley" Y/N giggled as she felt his hot breath and soft lips against her skin. George slightly pulled apart and looked into Y/N's eyes while he caressed her cheek with his other hand gently. "It will be fine,okay. I am here for you" . He planted a kiss on her forehead as she nodded. She was not fully convinced but he made her nerves calm and she liked that. "Oi, you two love birds! The annoucement's about to begin" Fred screamed through the crowd.

Y/N sat beside Cedric at the Hufflepuff table accompanied by the gang. Her heart was beating in her mouth. It was so loud that she was sure everyone around heard it too. The blue flames from the Goblet turned red as it bellowed. A parchment came flying out of it and Dumbledore caught it. Not Cedric. Not Cedric .Y/N closed her eyes and tightened her grip on Cedric's palm as Dumbledore cleared his throat. "The Durmstrang Champion is.... Viktor Krum". The Durmstrangs erupted in cheer and applause as Krum made his way to Dumbledore. Y/N's thumping heart had calmed a little. The fire turned red again, throwing out a parchment into Dumbledore's hands. Not Cedric.Not Cedric, her heart thumped wildly again. "The Champion from Beauxbatons.... Fleur Delacour". The Beauxbatons cheered as Fleur shook her hands with Dumbledore and was asked to go through a door behind the teachers' dining area. Y/N's heart was thumping so loudly at this point, she felt as if it would burst out of her chest any moment. Fiona put a hand on the small of her back and starting rubbing comforting circles . Her eyes were closed shut tightly. "The Hogwarts Champion ...." paused Dumbledore. That two seconds felt like two decades to Y/N . She had stopped breathing. "Cedric Diggory!" . The whole Hall erupted in cheer and applause. Y/N felt like she was going to be sick. She opened her eyes to see Cedric practically glowing as he was being patted on the back by the others. She had to be happy. This is what he wants and you are his best friend and biggest cheerleader. You can't hold him back. Maybe you are overthinking and undermining his abilities. He will be okay. Y/N grinned at Cedric as he hugged her and the whole gang joined in. "You better win this thing or I'll snap your neck. Also, I want half of your prize money, okay?" she told Cedric with mock seriousness. "Take all of it, for all I care" , Cedric stood up and planted a kiss on her forehead and proceeded towards Dumbledore.

Cedric had just disappeared behind the door. "Excellent! we now have our three champions! But in the end only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this Chalice of Champions, this vessel of victory. The Triwizard cup!" announced Dumbledore as cheer and applause took over the Hall once again. But , silence fell almost instantly when the blue flames turned red for the fourth time. A parchment shot out of it. Dumbledore caught it and and read " Harry Potter. Harry Potter" as he searched frantically for the bespectacled boy in the crowd ."HARRY POTTER!" he screamed. Every head turned towards Potter who was now walking slowly and meekly towards the Headmaster with confusion and fear strewn across his face. Everyone started to boo him as he walked towards the door. What the hell was that? This contest is not going to be what we are expecting, thought Y/N to herself as she got up.

So no one told you life was gonna be this way

*clap clap clap clap*

Y/N jumped at the sound of claps that came from behind. "Isn't this from the Muggle show you love so much?" Cedric pulled Y/N into a side hug as she stood near the railings of the Astronomy Tower. "Oh c'mon sulky face. Ced has done it! It's time to celebrate" said Val dragging the two of them to the middle of the tower as "I'll Be There For you" played on the record. All of them danced and laughed and cheered. "I'll be there for you" Cedric mouthed with the song to Y/N. "Cause you there for me too...." sang Y/N loudly as she pulled him into a side hug .

Holy Crap! This is the 20th part. I cannot believe I have stuck to this thing for this long. I was conflicted about writing it down for sometime now. But, my friends encouraged me to go ahead . I am thankful to you guys. My small number of readers who have stuck with me till now. We are close to 500 reads!jkjkjksjskjsjskssss!! I am a pro procrastinator and I am really amazed how much I am loving this process. I literally wake up in the morning thinking about what to write next and do the same while going to bed. It makes me really happy to bring these chapters to you. Also , all my love to my friends who specially made accounts here just to read this weird little story of mine. Some aren't even Potterheads or that obssessed with the franchise.
