Mila woke up the next day with the blankets over her face. She pulled the covers off as she sat up and looked around confused.
'Aaah' she put her hand on her head as it suddenly started throbbing. She had a hangover.
'Where am I?' She said to herself as she looked around confused.
Suddenly the door opened and Noel rushed in. Milas eyes widened as she watched Noel sit down on the end of the bed and run his hand through his dark messy hair. He looked scruffy, his clothes were worn and covered in dirt.
'Noel?' Mila asked.
Noel turned to look at her and smiled. 'You alright Mila? How you feeling?'
Mila studied him. 'What have you been doing?' She asked.
'Long story.. you feeling alright now?'
'No I have a headache. Why am I in your bed?' She frowned at him.
Noel just stared at her a moment not knowing what to say. 'You um, well you were really drunk last night and um' -
'Oh my god. Did we?' -
'No no no, I didn't do anything to you. You wanted to but I didn't wanna take advantage of you y'know' Noel looked down.
'Oh sorry' Mila felt bad.
'Its alright.. so um.. do you remember anything from last night?'
'Not much no' Mila shook her head.
'Oh okay.. so you don't remember telling me you um, that you liked me?'
Mila stared at him a moment.
'No.. I um.. maybe I should go?' She said as she got up out of the bed.
'No Mila don't go please' Noel begged her with his eyes.
'Noel we just can't. We just can't be together..'
'Why not?'
'Because... well, Claire likes you'
'So?.. are you gonna let her talk you into hating me?'
Mila bit her lip and turned away.
'I know Louise spoke to you' Noel said.
'She's a bitch and you need to ignore her'
Mila turned back to him. 'Look I'm happy to be friends Noel but that's all. I don't think we should ruin our friendship' Mila said as she walked to the door.
Noel sighed as Mila opened his bedroom door and walked out.
Noel got up and followed her down the stairs.
'Why's that then Mila huh?'
'Noel we were already friends. Can't it just stay that way?'
'So what you saying? You gonna friendzone me?'
'Yeah that sounds about right'
'Mila what did Louise say to you?'
'Leave me alone'..
'just tell me what she said to you!'
Mila stopped at the front door and sighed.
'Noel I'm not wasting my time with someone who's done this with loads of other girls'
Noel frowned. 'What?'
'Yeah. Your ex girlfriend told me you take all girls by the river and you do the same thing with every one. I don't want to be the next girl to do the same thing as all the rest have done!'
