I'm going to try and get a chapter a day for this fic but the first week of this is going to be difficult. My parents are gone in Cancûn for a week and I'm going to be at a friend's house! So I don't want to be rude or awkward or anything by sitting there on my phone writing a fan fic haha! I'm leaving for her house in like 4 hours so I'm going to try and pre-write as many chapters of this as I can! I'd need to write 7 (this one included) to be able to publish one a day this week! Chapter 1/7 here we go.
My eyelids fluttered open and I attempted to sit myself up. A white-hot pain was sent shooting through my temple so I groaned and laid back down. I was in the dropship, laying on a makeshift bed of jackets that covered three of the seats. "You're finally up!" Finn said in an excited yet exhausted tone. He sat next to me and brushed my hair from my face. I slapped his wrist and he pull back his hand in shock. "Ouch! What was that for?!"
I scowled and managed to squeak out a few words, "Y-you were touching my hair.." The simple act of talking filled my head with a throbbing pain. He stared at me for a moment then burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. "What's so funny about you being a flirtacious wierdo?" I snapped.
He finally caught his breath and regathered his wits. "I wasn't flirting with you, you dweeb. I was checking your bandages." A blush rose to my cheeks and this time I didn't object when he moved closer to check the bandage wrapped around my skull. He was inches above my face, fiddling with the bandage when suddenly he stopped. He locked eyes with me and then dragged his gaze over all of my features. His glare landed on my lips and my heart skipped a beat. My palms began to sweat and I was about to mutter a word to break the silence when he dove in and began to kiss me.
Our lips tousseled for domiance. He won. I wrapped my arm around his neck and pulled him closer. He pulled away a few seconds later, a smile stretching across his lips. "That time I actually was flirting with you." He winked and stood up to grab a cup of water.
We both froze when we saw that Bellamy was standing in the doorway. He cleared his throat and glanced at Finn. "Is she doing better now?" Finn coughed and nodded, spilling the water he had been pouring. Bellamy scowled at him,"Don't waste that! We don't have much left from the rain last night."
Something about him invading our privacy then yelling at Finn made my blood boil. I sat myself up, ignoring the pain in my head. "If there isn't any water, then go find some!" Both boys looked a little taken aback, but Bellamy's shock didn't last long.
"Well, Princess," the nickname sent shivers down my back," maybe if you weren't injured on the first day we were here, you'd know that it is chaos out there!" As soon as he finished his retort, the shouts coming from outside the dropship suddenly became audible. Bellamy wasn't finished, "So next time you want to protect your little boyfriend when he does something stupid at least know its probably stupid for a reason." He turned and walked off.
I looked at Finn, his cheeks were a bright red and his hand was shaking as he carried the cup of water towards me. I took the water, chugged it, and stood up. "Whoa whoa whoa! Take it slow Clarke, you aren't fully recovered." He slid his arm around my waist and rested his hand on my hip pulling me closer to him. I moved really close to his face and whispered, "I don't care." Then turn, broke away from his grasp and ducked out of the door of the dropship.
I froze as soon as I got out of the ship. Large bonfires were scattered throughout a small portion of the clearing. Teens were fighting and screaming and making out. It was indeed what Bellamy had warned; chaos. I walked through the camp, picking up a backpack filled with supplies that I saw lying on the ground and heading towards a large cluster of kids. Once I arrived I stood on one of the crates that they had carried out of the dropship. I stomped three times and only a few of the teens stopped and looked at me.
Annoyed, I cleared my throat and cupped my hands to my lips. "HEY LISTEN UP!" I bellowed loudly enough that even Finn stuck his head out of the dropship door. The entire crowd was looking at me. "Alright. Now that I've got your attention, we need to talk. Who here is thirsty?" A majority of the kids raised their hands,"Hungry?" The rest of the hands were now up. "And do you know what to do to fix that?" The teens shook their heads. "Well. When you're hungry, you hunt. And when you're thirsty, you find a water source." Members of the crowd began nodding. "So!" I clapped my hands together. "Your task is to fulfill my need of 4 members for a water source search team." The crowd was silent. "Come on! You guys really want to starve to death?" Two teenagers stepped forward. One had longish black hair, was sort of short and was thickset. "Your name?" I asked, supressing a sigh.
He cleared his throat. "Monty. Monty Green."
"Welcome to the team Monty." I offered a smile to reassure him that he made the right desicion. "And who's your friend?" I asked, pointing to the lean, wirey, brown-haired boy who stood next to him. "M-my name's Jasper Jordan." I examined him again and laughed, "Nice goggles Jasper. Welcome to the team." He adjusted the large goggles resting on his forehead as a blood red blush rose to his cheeks.
Over the next 20 minutes both Octavia and Finn also volunteered. The crowd dispersed to begin making weapons that the hunting parties would use the next day. When just Monty, Jasper, Octavia, and Finn were left, I jumped off of the crate and onto the ground. "Alright. We need to head out as soon as possible as to not waste any daylight. I've already got a backpack, you should each find one then meet me back here." They all nodded and Jasper, Monty and Finn left to go find packs. Octavia stayed behind. "Hey, sorry, we got off to sort of a bad start during landing." I aplogized.
She laughed and shrugged. "No hard feelings. Why are you here? I mean, what crime did you commit to land yourself a spot on the dropship?"
I smiled, "I knew the Ark was dying, that it was losing oxygen. Chancellor Jaha didn't want me following my dad's footsteps and exposing that information to the passengers."
Octavia shook her head, a scowl hardly clouding her beauty. "Oh wow. Ridiculous. D-did they float your pops?"
I cleared my throat. "Yeah. They floated him and put me in solitary. How about you Octavia? How did you end up here?"
She smiled, "I got put in solitary for being born. My mom already had a kid. I hid under our room's floor for 3 years then they caught me while my brother snuck me out go to a masquarade ball. A fucking ball. "
I patted her on the back and we both laughed. We began walking towards a stack of crates that a backpack was perched on. We passed a tent and Bellamy stepped out shirtless, with two girls wrapped in his arms. My jaw dropped. "Octavia! You let your boyfriend cheat on you like that?!" Octavia turned to me and laughed. "That thing is not my boyfriend, he's my brother." I became quite embarassed when I remembered how I had thought their reunion the other day was supposed to be romantic. The two girls left to go to their separate tents.
Bellamy began to speak, "Ocatavia what are you doing with Clarke? And Clarke what are you doing out of the dropship?" Octavia answered first, "We're going to look for a water source." Bellamy began to shake his head. "No way O, it's too dangerous. "
Octavia said nothing, just continued to the stack of crates, slipped into the backpack, walked back, grabbed my arm, and began dragging me to the meeting place. Bellamy began to protest but I interrupted, "We need water Bellamy, trust me I'll keep her safe."
He sighed and shouted, "How can I trust you to keep my sister safe when you can't even make it down a ramp without blacking out?!"
"Fuck you!" I yelled, then turned and continued to the meeting place. Jasper, Monty and Finn were already there waiting.
I looked all of them in the eyes. "Alright. Let's go find some water."
