"Domain Expansion: Garden of Flames, Third Level: Hell Garden." The caster stood still as fire started to spread around her. She watched as the cursed spirits surrounding her get eaten by the flames of different colors.
She snapped her fingers and in a blink of an eye, the flames extinguished. It was her third time today to exorcise a group of cursed spirits and to be honest, she's exhausted. She doesn't have any plan to use her domain expansion but the situation left her no choice. Hundreds of them are waiting to devour her.
She sighed. She's tired of her daily routine, exorcising cursed spirits that are beyond the reach of jujutsu sorcerers in Japan. It's not her duty and she can just live her life free from curses but she wanted to repent for her sins and this is the only way she knows.
She wondered when can she have a rest but she immediately shook the thought away. She's been doing this for hundreds of years and she never had the chance to be in a day-off.
"Oh, Teacher Reimi!" she turned to the owner of the voice. She held the handle of her sword. She eyed her and tried to remember if she met her somewhere but it's useless. "Don't tell me you can't remember me again?"
"Who are you?" she threatened her.
"You know, Ma'am, I'll miss this. You asking me who am I even though we lived in the same house for months. It's me, Anna Nakada. I just wanted to say goodbye."
"I'll just assume you're my student," Reimi replied.
"Well, I am your student. Anyway, do you remember the school you mentioned to me?" her student smiled awkwardly when she understood what she said. Her teacher doesn't remember anything. "Sorry, I didn't realize. Going back to our topic, I'll be going to that school, Ma'am"
"What school?"
"You told me last week that there's a school in Japan for cursed energy users, Jujutsu High. You said I can be stronger there and I can learn more things about curses. I had a feeling that if I'll go there, I can grow as a sorcerer," her student excitedly replied to her.
"I see. I'm happy for you."
"But, Ma'am, don't think that you aren't enough. You're more than enough, you and your teaching, but, I wanted to explore our world more and I'll be able to do that if I'm on my own. I also wanted to be stronger so I can beat you, too, someday."
"It's amazing that you have a dream you want to reach. Then, go on and take your one step towards your goal. I'll be looking forward for your triumph. I heard that the the one they dubbed as the strongest sorcerer is a teacher on one of their branches."
"Ah! Gojo Satoru! I've researched about him. He's a teacher on the Tokyo branch. I talked to him and he helped me so I can be admitted there. He even told me that he'll fetch me today. Ma'am, I'll defeat him first before I face you!"
"No. I think you should defeat me, first? Save the best for last."
"That's why I'll face him before you, because you're the best!" Reimi smiled on her student's thought. She put her hand on her head and ruffled her hair.
"I'm sure you'll be able to do that," she said to her student. "Just remember what I've always told you."
"When facing an opponent possessing overwhelming strength, it's okay if you're not strong. You just need to come prepared," Anna recited. "Know their weaknesses and even someone like me can knock down the strongest. Work smarter, not harder."
Reimi doesn't really remember the exact words she told her but she just nodded at her.
"You don't remember what you told me, do you?" her student teased her.
