Gaping craters littered the land of Logstedshire. Now, instead of their snug campsite and holiday home, stood a hollow pit. The opaque man stared wide-eyed at the carnage around him.

When did this happen?

Ghostbur had only been away from Logsted for a couple of days.

He expected he would return to see the familiar happy face of Tommy, perhaps in the good company of Dream. Yet Logsted was now a desolate wasteland and the uninhabited territory was roamed by mobs.

The damage was far to deliberate to have been an accident, not something that the mere explosion of a Creeper could have caused. The multitude of explosive destruction looked familiar to the now deceased man, but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen this sight before.

"Tommy?", his soft, bright voice called out for his youngest brother as he drifted through the ruined campground. "Toms, are you here?"

A large shadow cast itself over the camp as the sun began to rise, and the ghost's grey eyes fell upon a distant feature, being backlit by the sun. He recognized it as a tall, man-made pillar reaching far into the sky, even above the clouds.

Why is that there?

He assumed that his blonde-haired brother was likely planning on building another tower, knowing how fond he was of them.

But near the base of the structure, his ears caught the sound of painful distraught sobs, accompanied by desperate wails.

"T-ommy!! TOMMY!", he heard it frantically call. He made his way towards the hysterical noise, curious as to who could've been so sad.

Before him, he saw the now president of L'manburg softly cradling a bloodied body, it's blonde hair matted with dark-red and dirt. Tubbo held it close, rocking back and forth with it in his shaking arms as tears leaked from his eyes.

Tommy..

"T-oby?", the blonde boy unexpectedly and weakly whispered. Tubbo gasped and sprang to attention, fumbling to place his blood-stained hands behind Tommy's head and back as support. "Tommy, I-I'm so sOrry- Tommy, please stay with mE.. T-Tommy", the brunette's voice broke as he weeped.

How did he survive a fall that far?

"This i-is all my fAult- Tommy, I'm s-sorry.. P-please don't go, you can't leave me-", he pleaded.

Tubbo weeped as he begged for his fatally injured friend to live.

"Y-you came to see me..", Tommy murmered with a tearful smile on his face, his slighty open, blue gazed-over orbs meeting Tubbo's. A sharp exhale hitched in the back of Tubbo's throat at the sound of his friend's hoarse voice.

"I'm sorry- I'm so s-orry I didn't come s-sooner... F-orgive m-me."

"B-But you-" Tommy spluttered on bile in his mouth. "You- w-were h-ere.. B-ut n-one else saw y-ou", Tommy sounded confused and scared.

He tried to force himself to speak further, but Tubbo shushed him, running his hand through Tommy's hair.

"It-s okay Tommy- You're going to be o-okay! R-Right-?", Tommy didn't respond, and Tubbo panicked at the sight of his now motionless friend.

"Tommy!? Tommy w-wake up!", he screamed desperately.

In his frantic state, his eyes fell upon the familiar ghost of his old leader, and the brother of his dying friend.

"W-Wilbur! Help me please! H-Help me help h-him!!"

Ghostbur edged his way closer to the dreadful scene, but he knew there was nothing he could do. He felt sympathetic towards his old friend.. Seeing how distraught Tubbo was made him aware of something inside of him, a feeling that seeped into his soul which his ghost form struggled to comprehend.

He watched as the once transparent piece of material in his hand turned blue.
Ah.. Sadness.

Meanwhile, Tubbo desperately called for someone or anyone to help his best friend. Tommy was still alive, but just barely.
His limbs were just about shattered from the fall, and blood seeped from his mouth, nose and just about every other part of his body.

Ghostbur was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard a gasp from behind him, and turned his head to see Phil and Techno, who had presumably approached the camp after hearing Tubbo's screams of pure agony.

The Ghost could clearly see the exact moment his father realised that his youngest son was the bloodied corpse laying in the arms of the L'manburg president. He rushed towards him, holding both of the boys close.

Tommy's blue orbs peeked through his tired lids, and a solemn smile fell onto his face. "D-Dadza?", he whispered. "Oh Toms, you- you've had a bit o-of a fall hey?", Phil pointed out.

"T-There was always- a-a- chance I would fly, like y-ou Phil, b-but it was n-"

Philza placed his hand on the side of Tommy's face with a forced and broken smile on his own. "Sssh, d-don't say the Eret line, T-Toms", he playfully warned.

Tommy chuckled softly at Phil's usual joking manner. "I'm-m s-so happy y-you're here", he said weakly. "I'm glad Tommy.. Just- um- hold on, o-okay?"

Tommy's smile fell, and he sadly shook his head. "It's o-over for me.."

Phil hastily shook his head and grabbed Tommy's hands in his, suppressing his sobbing as he desperately clutched to it.
"P-please let- let- it be over for M-me..",Tommy begged.

"No. N-Not you too.. I can't- l-lose another son!"

But the life was fading from his eyes.

"I'm s-so so-rry."

"No- pl-ease!!"

"Goodbye D-Dad.. a-and Tubso.."
"I'll see Will soon-"

And it was quiet.

Phil lay his hand onto Tommy's chest, above his heart, feeling a faint and final thud.

Phil hung his head, letting hot tears seep from his eyes. "He's- he-"

Tubbo's pained screams echoed in the ears of anyone who dared to step foot into that campsite, even after it had long been abandoned.
The blood-soaked ground kept its stains until the summer rain washed it away.
That ominous pillar stood proud and timeless, proud of what it'd accomplished.

Ghostbur began a new book...

a memory to tommyinnit
by Wilbur Soot

This event of your death made me a bit sad! Seeing the people I considered family sobbing over the body of my brother, definitely gets in my feels. Even Techno cried when he buried you. We know I forget the sad things, so before I forget.. I wrote a song? poem?

the shattered bones he left behind,
with tattered hearts that never heal.
and splattered spots of dried out blood,
the battered body that'll never feel.

I'll see you soon, Tommy :))
