Nothing is the same without you

The fire

As the alarm went off at the station maya dove out of bed, slipping on her pants and rushing into the barn, slipping on her turn out gear and looking to her team, she grinned at Andy "I missed late night calls!" She yelled over the siren and hopped into the truck, fixing her helmet on her head and turning on the truck sirens as they all drove the building that was on fire. As they arrived maya got out, starting to command the scene "Miller, Gibson and Hughes, go to the roof, were the first ones here I need you to check the condition and assess. Sullivan and Montgomery I want you hitting these floors with the hoses! Herrera, Warren and I will take search and rescue! Keep me updated!" She shouted before fixing her tank on her back and running in "you two keep it close let's not get separated we're lucky this fire just started but it's spreading quickly, visibility is already getting low" she spoke

Andy looked at her boss. ""It's okay maya."" She laughs fixing her tank. She went in the building. After a few minutes she turned around and couldn't seen any of her co workers. She  decide to walk forward. A few minutes later she felt hand on her neck. ""You will die baby."" She heard a man saying. She tried to not panic when the man hits her. She felt and a shelf land on her legs. "Breathe Andy breathe."" She tried to calm her self.

Maya looked around, checking rooms. She turned, not seeing anyone "shit" she muttered. She grabbed her walkie "Herrera? Warren?" she spoke into it "call out so I can find you" she heard Ben and found him quickly but still hadn't heard Andy "Andy!" she called out "damn it Herrera answer me!" She shouted into the walkie. She was scared. Her best friend was alone in a burning building. ""Herrera can you hear me."" She said. She hold her breathe trying to hear a sound of her best friend.

Andy controlled her breathe. The man walked away. She tried to grab her Walkie. ""Maya. I'm trapped."" She said. Her voice was braking. She can't feel her legs. A few minutes later the pressure on her legs was to much and she fainted.

Maya nodded "okay, okay Herrera, I'm coming where are you?" She asked but didn't get a response "damn it" she shouted "everyone keep containing this fire we gotta find Herrera!" she shouted as the building creaked. She tried to keep calm. But her best friend was all alone in the building. Probably passed out.  Warren grabs maya's hand. ""She will be okay."" He said. Maya nods and they walk to the building.

The man comes back. He heard the voices coming through Andy's radio. ""You talked to your friends." He yelled. Andy tried to open her eyes. She could smell the smoke. The man started punching her legs.

""Woman don't work, do you hear me."" He yelled. Andy tried to heard the voice.

Maya kept close to Warren, looking around. They heard a voice. Maya and Ben looks at each other. ""It sounds like a man."" Ben said. Maya was still. She has tears in her eyes. "We need to find Andy now."" She said. Ben nods. They walked to the room. They opens the door. Maya gasped. Her best friend was unconscious. Ben looks at the man. The man has a masker on his face.  Ben walks to the man and knocking him out. Maya went to Andy, gently patting her face "hey Herrera wake up." she said. She holds her best friends hand. ""Please wake up. I I need you. Everyone needs you here."' She said.
