BLACK LIKE A SHADOW
Everyone knows that there are shadows in the dark. Well, everyone is wrong. Shadows are only with light. They disappear in the dark. How am I sure? I saw it in my dream. The dream that I had about all the colors of the rainbow. Including its color in the dark.
Black. That's why we can't see it. Black is the color that represents the absence of color. But it is one!
That's why I saw everything. That colorless, lifeless room filled to the brim with nothingness. But not for long. All I had to do was wait and adjust. Because that's what we do when the light changes, isn't it? We stand still for a while, sightless. We wait until we can see again. And we always do.
A room... Walls, floor, and ceiling painted the very same shade of black. I couldn't tell where one started and the other ended. And there I was – nowhere and alone. Yet somehow, it was okay. Because I knew that all I needed to do was adjust. So I stood there, completely still, with my eyes wide open. And I waited. For anything. For everything.
I waited until it came. Whatever it was. And it did. But it came in phases. One after the other, no two together. But I knew... they were all there. And how badly I wanted to see them...
