I've never been this nervous in my entire life. No matter how kind my mom is, I still don't know if she'll be mad at me if I tell her I'm into men. Bright kept on walking back and forth in their living room. He's waiting for his mom to come home from the orphanage. He messaged her earlier that he wants to talk about a certain matter when she goes home.
When his phone rang, he freaked out. That scared me! Oh, it's Win. He wants to video call. Bright answered the call immediately. "You look stressed. Are you okay there?" Win knew that Bright's going to tell his mom about his sexuality and their mutual feelings. He wanted to come but Bright told him that it's best if he tells her first.
Bright shook his head and said that he doesn't know where to start and he’s scared that he might end up losing his mind. “You can do it. I believe in you. She might not accept it at first but it’s always the initial reaction. She loves you so much, I know she’s going to accept no matter what your sexuality is. If you still can’t tell her about us, you don’t have to force yourself. I can always wait, okay?” Win tried to comfort him during the last minute.
He felt teary-eyed because of how supportive Win is. Win always tries to understand and put Bright first before himself. "Su su na, Bright!" Win encouraged him before ending the call. Bright sighed as he waited for his mother.

"Son, I'm home!" Bright's mom shouted as she entered the house. Her son immediately leaped his way to welcome her. "You said we're gonna talk. What is it about?" Bright felt his chest tightened.
He led his mom to the sofa so they could have a seat. "Is it so serious that I can see you breathing heavily?" Her son nodded. "You know nothing can make me mad, right son?" She assured him.
Bright mustered up his courage before asking his mom what she thinks about the LGBTQ community. "I think that we are all humans despite having different sexualities. Everyone needs to be accepted and loved. LGBTQs deserve a safe space in this world. They are wonderful human beings."
Upon hearing his mother's explanation, he suddenly felt something in his chest. It is a feeling of relief that his mom accepts the community wholeheartedly. "Why did you ask? Is it something related to you?" With that one question, he felt scared again.
"Are you.. gay?" His mom had a careful tone in her voice, trying not to be overwhelming. Bright made eye contact with her because he couldn't say something. He realized that her eyes gave him a feeling of comfort and acceptance that he's been expecting from her.
Suddenly, Bright bursted into tears. "Oh, dear. Don't cry. You don't have to cry about being gay. I will accept you no matter what or who you become because you are my son." Bright's mom pulled him into a hug and caressed his head while he sobs on her shoulder.
"I'm proud of you for saying this to me. I know it must've been hard for you." She cried along with him. Bright hugged her tightly, still touched by his mother's reaction. After a while, Bright finally calmed down and faced his mother.
"How did you find out?", was the first thing she asked. I should tell her about Win. Bright made up his mind and responded that he felt romantic feelings towards a guy. "Hmm. It's Win, right?" He blushed upon hearing Win’s name.
Bright asked her how she knew that it's Win. "I just knew it when I saw you together. I always knew you both have something special. Well, I'm happy that it's Win. He's a good and trustworthy person." Bright smiled because he didn't have a hard time telling his mother about Win and him.
"Wait, my son has a boyfriend now?" Bright panicked and denied it quickly. He said that they're taking things slow and they're still getting to know each other deeper. "Alright, alright. That's good. But I support you both, I just want you to have the right decisions. Of course, I'm here to guide you." She smiled sweetly.
Bright thanked his mom and hugged her again. "You don't have to thank me. It's only normal that I accept you because I love you. Oh right, what about Win? Does his parents know?" Bright shook his head and explained that Win’s parents only knew that he's bisexual but they still don't know about their relationship since Win said he wants Bright to tell his mother first.
"What a good kid. Alright, I hope he tells his parents about you too since I already gave my approval." His mother laughed. Bright felt teary-eyed again. He doesn't normally say this to his mom but this time he kept on telling her how much he loves her and that he's thankful for her.

Bright immediately called Win after his talk with his mother. They both rejoiced as they were easily accepted by Bright's mother. Win told Bright that telling his parents wouldn't be a problem so he doesn't need to worry about it.
After a couple of hours, Win called Bright's mother. "Sawasdee kha, Win." She greeted him. "Sawasdee krub, Khun Mae. I called because I wanted to thank you for your kindness." He slightly bowed his head as courtesy.
"No, Win. Thank you. You've always been with Bright from the start. Thank you for taking care of him. I know I can trust you so I have nothing against you both." Bright's mom expressed his gratitude towards Win. "Khun Mae, I have something to tell you." Win started to open up.
He explained that he knew about Bright's word count since last year and he wanted to help him increase it. "You can? But the doctors said there's nothing we could do about it?" She seems shocked. "Yes. I researched about it for a month and also reached out to those who had their experience."
"How is it going to happen?" Win then told her about his plan involving Tu. She thought about it deeply and went silent for a few minutes. "Win, dear.. I know you wanted to help my son. I'm grateful for that… but it seems risky. If it goes wrong then you'll suffer."
"I won't let that happen. I'll be very careful and I've been planning about it for a while now." Win tried to convince her more. "My goodness, this kid. I know I can't stop you but please tell your parents about this too. If they agree then I will also." Win shouted 'yes!' and thanked Bright's mom for hearing him out. She only shook her head while smiling.
"I just have a favor to ask you." She uttered. "Anything, Khun Mae." Win smiled. "Before you leave for your last year in college, please spend more time with my son. The four of you, especially you, Win. I never saw my son that happy in his entire childhood. When you came into his life, he never stopped smiling." Her tears couldn't stop falling. She's grateful for him, for them, for giving Bright the smile he never expressed as a child.
