I opened my eyes only to see my neighborhood in the dark. I look down to see that I was only in my boxers. The wind blew, making me shivers at the slight breeze. "Damn it." I grunted.

I started walking down the street. The air seemed dead but the only thing that was keeping the world alive were the lamps and lit the sidewalks and roads. "I was supposed to see Mary today." I complained as I walked down the neighborhood road.

All of a sudden the world started to spin. "Time to wake, Lynn. You're needed..."

I opened my eyes to see Emilio on top of me. "I figure that would wake you up." He said.

I pushed him off of me, "Don't do that..."

Emilio giggled, "I went digging threw Mary's stuff and found this..."

He handed me a letter. The letter was yellow, looks like it was being read over and over again.  I looked at Emilio and opened the letter. The first thing I noticed was that it was dated in 2005. Years ago. Weird. No one had left a name on it but the handwriting doesn't look like Mary's. The hand writing was messy and unreadable as Mary's was neat, curly, very very pretty. It fit her personality.

"I remember when she first got the letter, she was excited...." Emilio spoke up.

I heard him shift onto the bed, "Who gave her this?"

Emilio scoffed, "You seriously don't remember? Kinda pathetic if you ask me..."

He got up and walked to the bedroom door, stopping his tracks to look at me, "The pieces are all in front of you, Lynn. You just need to put them together..."

I sat there and stared at the letter. I don't get it. Emilio knows something that I don't. I heard him sigh and leave the room. Goddamn my dumbass. It's obvious that I should know something but nothing is coming to mind.

     "Come on, Lynn!"

I look down to see Mary smiling at me. I smiled back, seeing the girl of my dreams standing infront of me.

She grabbed my hand and starts pulling me further into the forest. "Mary, what did you do?" I said calmly.

"I did a thing for you. You said you wanted to meet me out here so I set up a little area for us!"

God she is so cute. "Mary..." I stopped dead in my tracks as Mary was pulled back.

"I needed to tell you something important..."

That's all I remember on the day of her murder. This letter is useless. I rolled it up and threw it at the ground.

I grabbed my coffee and left the little shop. No one said anything as I left. There used to be a, "Have a good day, Mr.Williams!" But ever since Mary went missing, everyone has been afraid to talk to me.

I kept walking down these almost empty streets until I was stopped by a tall lady. She was taller than me, had brown wavy hair and had a red dress on. "Mr.Williams?" She said with her deep soothing voice.

     I gulped, "Y-Yes?"

"Oh thank god! I came across a couple of men that fit your description but they weren't you." She let out a sigh.

"What is it that you need?"

"We need to talk about Mary Anne."

I nodded and she instructed me to follow her. I was behind her, taking in the way she walked. She walked like a model, strutting and showing off what she has. She takes me through this nasty alley. We walked past rats, gross ass trash cans, and many back doors. She then stopped at this certain door. "Here." She stood still as she wanted for me to open the door.

I slowly opened it as it revealed a broken down room with two lawn chairs. "Sit, Mr.Williams." she demanded.

I walked in and  sat down in one of the chair as she sat in the other. She reaches over to a broken down table and picked up a packet of cigarettes, pulling one out. She offered me one but I declined. I watched her as she lit the cigarette. She inhaled and exhaled the smoke, "Mary Anne was a friend to a good pal of mine. Met her only once and she seemed nice."

"She was nice. She meant well."

"Exactly. I don't know who would kill such an innocent creature like her. She meant well and was kind to everyone. I find it hard that a stranger would murder her..."

      "What are you saying?"

"Someone who was close to her, like your roommate or one of her friends must've killed her. Maybe someone like you..."

       "Are you accusing me?"

"I have no need to. I wanted to start an alliance to find who ever killed the poor girl. I can tell the law isn't taking it seriously. They aren't taking you seriously."

      "Hmph. What is your name?"

"Secrets are meant to be kept, Mr.Williams."

"You know my name but I am not allowed to know your's?"

        "You can call me Ms.Kay."

        "Is that your actual name?"

"Like I have said, secrets are meant to be kept...."

With that she took a long puff of her cigarette. "What was the last thing you heard from Mary?" Ms.Kay huffed out.

The last thing I heard....

"I wanted to talk to you about our future..." Mary smiled.
I nodded in response. She continued, "I feel like we should take it to the next level."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm talking about getting married!" She said so happily.
It made me smile back. She was always the girl of my dreams. Marrying her is the only thing I wanted to do at the time. "I think I'm listening." I chuckled at her.

"You're pathetic,,," Ms.Kay spat, "can't answer a simple question..."
"I don't remember much anymore. Every time I try to recapture memories, they all seem to end with a cliffhanger. It's all blurry and it scares me because I'm starting to forget her...face..."
"I came here to get answers, Mr.Williams. She has been missing for over a year and you're over here wallowing in your regret."
I looked up from the floor and stared into Ms.Kay's hazel eyes, "You're right...Let's end this pity party and fuck up who ever hurt Mary Anne...."
